Seems like it should work great as a float valve for our maple syrup tank. Haven't installed it yet.

Not long enough to get a fitting on once it’s installed
The construction seems very sturdy. The only issue is that the threaded area doesn’t have enough remaining to put a plumbing fitting onto. It probably isn’t bad if the wall of the container is about an eighth of an inch thick.

Installation is easy
Easy install and appears to be good quality. All stainless steel. But it does have a down side. No adjustment on the float. After installation the unit leaks out from the front. I will not shut off. Had to replace it with one from my local hardware store. Will be returning as I don't have time to wait for a replacement.

Does not shut off when the float rises
This float valve does not work. It barely rises when water pressure increases inside a tank. At the maximum water level, the float rises but does not shut off water coming in. This causes water to overflow. It is a waste of time and money. Do not buy these valves for water conservation.
