Not sure if it was defective but that was a waste of $35
UPDATE: The left eye kept losing focus. I tweaked the diopter a bit and it set nicely. Used them again about a week later and child noticed one eye blurry again. I confirmed this and tried to reset it but it would not focus. While twisting the diopter the eye piece came dislodged. They are threaded but don't really screw in. They basically just plug in. Not a big deal except for the fact that now I cannot get the piece to attach again 100%. Worse than that is the fact that I also can't get the sight to line up with the lenses so the view is absolutely ruined. Not sure if this was just a defective one but for $35 I'm sure there are better options.

Excelent product
I bought for my son, he loves it. It is high quality, and really nice. It is like looking through a telescope. You can see birds fire away without any problems. We could even see worms clearly in the sidewalk from a third-floor window. I highly recommend the product.

These are like adult binoculars
These binoculars are amazing. They are heavy duty! These are not a cheap toy made from plastic. There are covers for both sets of lenses. They also are not too strong for a child’s eyes.

Great binoculars!
Great binoculars! Sharp image, my kids (4&6) love them. They also have a rubber piece that flips down for eyeglasses. We've only had a few days, so I can't attest to their ruggedness yet, but they seem very good quality.

I can't wait for my 8 yr old grandson to get these binoculars. Really nice quality.

and easy to focus
Got this for an eight year old. Solid feel, clear optics, and easy to focus. I think he will enjoy them. The only reasons these don't get four stars is the lens covers are not attached to the body and there is no way to attach them to the strap, so those will be gone within a day. Also, the strap looks like it is attached in a way that it cannot be replaced and you cannot add a nicer strap.

Surprisingly high quality!
These are actually quite nice, and very appropriate for children...yet not "just" a toy.
