These are perfect for newborns. They are soft and absorbent. This big pack (plus the ones the nurses gave us when we were discharged) was all we needed until she grew to fit into size 1.

We got a sample of Pampers Swaddlers Size 0 from the hospital and our newborn has had zero issues with them. No irritation, no fit problems, and most importantly no leaks. I know most diapers have this now, but I do love the stipe on the diaper that changes from yellow to blue when moisture is present. Makes checking for pees/ large poos that much easier. We tried switching to another brand we received from our baby shower, and almost immediately we started dealing with leaks and a couple blowouts. We switched back to Swaddlers and things went right back to normal. If you are on the fence, these have been super reliable for us.
