Tattu D3 Heavy-Duty Tactical 3-Cell D LED Torch, Black

It is amazing. Really well made and so powerful. I think this is the best thing I've ever bought.

As a Security Professional, I needed something that was tough, durable, water proof to a certain extent but also has a bit of a 'bite' to it - something I find the Maglite doesn't have.This ticks all the boxes. It is not super bright, but bright enough to do a very good job.Simple operation, easy to use, feels hefty in your hand & the aerated bezel & endcap I feel would be strong enough to break glass in emergencies if needed.Dislikes: the flashlight lense just feels a bit flimsy, like plastic & not glass. But it has held up very well.And there's no retaining ring or clip to attach a lanyard on the end (if that's your kind of thing).But these are "meh" criticisms.Overall a very well built & durable piece of kit. Having owned a Maglite as well, I would say genuinely this is just as good.

I was hesitating if this one, with the three D size batteries will be the right size for home. I was thinking of the 4 or an other brand 6 batteries model. Just in case if I get spooked in the dark.I think this size is adequate indoor, in narrow spaces. If it would be bigger, you could not maneuver easily and the torch would become an obstacle instead of help.The light is bright enough, I don't want to replace a lighthouse, just see in the dark.It emits plenty of lights.After you switch it on, you can press the on-off switch half way momentarily and you can change the 100% brightness to 50% and to strobe.The strobe could temporarily blind anybody, so be careful with that.I bought rechargeable D size batteries and it works nice with them. I expect the battery life to be excellent. (3x1.2V=3.6V, 10Ah cells makes about 36Wh, so if it is 6W LED on max brightness, we would discharge the batteries in 6h.)The torch is solid and heavy. It may give you a chance in difficult situations.

Die Lampe ist komplett aus Metall (ich würde sagen schwarz eloxiertes Aluminium) gefertigt. Sie vermittelt einen hochwertigen und stabilen Eindruck, liegt gut in der Hand und verfügt, je nach verwendeten Batterien, über ein ordentliches Gewicht. Das Einlegen bzw. der Austausch von Batterien ist problemlos machbar; gerade das habe ich schon anders erlebt.Betrieben wird die Lampe mit drei Monozellen, alternativ können auch 1,2V Akkus verwendet werden. In beiden Fällen ist die Lichtleistung vergleichbar gut.Die Lampe hat 2 Lichtstärken:- Die helle Stufe ist mit 600 Lumen angegeben. Das ist sehr hell – wesentlich heller als eine Fahrradlampe, aber etwas dunkler als ein Autoscheinwerfer. Ich habe es mal mit 2,5 Ah Akkus getestet: hiermit hält die Lampe etwa 4,5 Stunden bei voller Lichtleistung durch und wird dabei kaum warm. Danach wird das Licht kontinuierlich schwächer und nach weiteren 3 Stunden waren die drei Akkus leer.- Die Helligkeit der dunkleren Stufe ist nicht angegeben. Im Vergleich zu anderen Lampen würde ich sie mit 300 Lumen schätzen. Das ist immer noch ordentlich hell und schon die Akkus. Leider „merkt“ sich die Lampe die zuletzt genutzte Helligkeit nicht – sie fängt immer in der hellen Stufe an und muss dann durch Tippen des Schalters in die dunklere Stufe versetzt werden.Die Lichtfarbe würde ich als klares Weiß beschreiben. Mir gefällt das sehr gut. Die Fokussierung die Lampe ist gut (nicht zu eng und nicht zu breit). So kommt sie in der hellen Stufe auf 100-200 Meter Leuchtweite (je nachdem, wie klar die Luft ist). Ändern kann man die Fokussierung allerdings nicht.Die einzige Schwäche der Lampe ist das Frontglas – genauer gesagt das Frontplastik. Es ist, wie jeder Kunststoff, nicht kratzfest. Die Alternative wäre Glas, das ist aber nicht bruchfest.Mein Fazit: Die Lampe ist vollkommen okay. Sehr gut verarbeitet, schön hell und sie funktioniert mit Akkus. Meiner Meinung nach braucht diese Lampe den Vergleich mit dem Platzhirschen aus Amerika nicht zu scheuen. Wer sich an Größe und Gewicht nicht stört macht mit der Tattu Lampe sicher nichts falsch. Insgesamt gebe ich 5 Sterne.

Seems well made and emits a good strong beam of light, but a little lighter in weight than I was expecting! I was hoping for that sense of confidence that you get from a sturdy maglight construction, but other than that it’s good enough!
