This heating pad can be used anytime and anywhere, and has an unlimited number of uses. For sore muscles and working out, Heat In A Snap heating pads may also be used cold. Each heating pad contains water and food grade sodium acetate (a form of salt) along with vinegar and a metal disc. All sales are final and backed with a lifetime guarantee. To Activate: Flex the metal disc inside the liquid to create a chain reaction causing the liquid in the pad to crystallize. (The coin-like disc does not need to be bent in half.) Once activated, the pad will begin to increase in temperature to 130ºF/54ºC. Shake the pad to quicken the wait time and then massage and work the pad to make it soft and pliable. The heat will last anywhere from 15 minutes up to 1.5 hours, depending on its size. It can be reused for an unlimited number of times by simply recharging it. To Recharge: Place heating pad into a kettle and fill with cold water. Place the kettle on the stove at a low to medium heat and SLOWLY bring the water to a rolling boil. Warning: if heat is set too high, the pad could melt to bottom of kettle. To keep pad from melting, you may choose to line bottom of kettle with a cloth before placing pad into the kettle or use non-stik kettle. When the water is at a boil then the contents of the pad should be completely liquefied. If even the slightest bit of cloudiness remains, the pad may reactivate. The pad may be used immediately upon removal from the boiling water, but should be wrapped in a cloth first to protect from the increased temperature. To ensure your product is properly recharged, the contents should be completely translucent. The product will not be damaged if over boiled. To Use Cold: The product may be placed in the freezer for a maximum of 1 to 2 hours (do not allow to freeze because freezing may cause the pad to expand and burst) or you may store it in the refrigerator until you are ready to use.
