I bought this for international travel to India. It really felt like a splurge, due to the cost, but it was well worth it. During the time I was in India (October/November), while the farmers were burning the stubble from their crops following the harvest in the outlying areas of Delhi, the air quality was particularly unhealthful, and I was very grateful to have this.There are subtle lights that are visible when the air purifier is turned on (visible from the front) which are functional (to know what is turned on and how charged your battery is) and helpful. Yet I did not wish to attract too much attention and wished also to be sensitive to the local people, (many of whom i imagine might like to have such an air purifier and might not be able to afford it); So I alternated using a mask with using this device to be more discreet, and sometimes didn't use this or a mask so as blend in more. But while in transit I would always use it, and while sleeping at night in inexpensive hotels I sometimes would put it on my pillow and try to breath the air from it so as to give my lungs a rest.I encountered no problems wearing it during both international and domestic flights (Thank you, Smart Gadgets staff for answering that question for me ahead of time!). But you cannot go through airport security wearing it.It would be helpful to have a protective case to pack it in while in transit, and while going thru security. The purifier accidentally got turned on a couple of times because I put it in a cloth bag for travel, for lack of a protective case. I placed it at the top of my backpack so I could access it easily once on board the plane. protective case would be really helpful.I used the both the negative ionizer and the HEPA filter together. It was a little tricky because the HEPA filter and air intake is built into that part of the air purifier which sits behind your neck; Thus, sitting back on a long plane flight seems to press the air intake into the back of the seat and feels like it restricts the air intake. I tried to move it a bit to the side and that seemed to work okay. For long international flights, with connecting flights, I found I needed to recharge it while on the plane, which was not a problem.Overall, I was very happy with this product. It is innovative and comfortable to wear, and I felt it definitely helped me to safeguard my lungs and my health! It is definitely more comfortable than wearing a mask, (though if you are also traveling with a mask, the Vog Mask is also an excellent product).

i spent almost 300$ on this product with shipping, and the fan is so loud it cant be worn in a quiet room without annoyance. i bought this for my girlfriend hoping to help with her migraine triggers, and she refuses to wear it because of the noise.

As soon as I charged the battery and turned the device on I knew I could not tolerate the high-pitched whine of the fan, even on low speed. I am sensitive to high-pitches and to have this fan running so close to my ears would be a constant irritant. The device is also very bulky and the HEPA filter area hangs down onto your neck and feels uncomfortable. Disappointed.

Extremely unhappy, bought this to filter toxins out of air. Opened the box, horrid rank smell poured out and filled the house, gagged me so bad had to open both doors. Took it outside, opened all the little bits, every single item in the package stunk to high heaven with some chemical smell, even the electric charger. Since it's needed for an upcoming trip, decided to try and clean it and use it anyway. Carefully cleaned it (outside) with baking soda, soapy water, even rubbing alcohol, the nasty smell remains. Even after rushing it outside, the whole house stunk bad, still does hours later, WTF were they thinking, spraying up all the insides for people who are trying to purify their breathing? I am literally 10 times more dissatisfied with this purchase than any purchase I have ever made. Avoid this if you wish to breathe clean air, it will bring you toxic air.

I received this product as a gift in December 2017. Nine months later, September 2018, and this product is no longer functional and will not accept being charged. I am extremely disappointed.In regards to the quality: this product needs a design overhaul. It fits bulkily on the back of the neck. This became apparent during a long flight. I count not relax against the headrest. The filter intake is located at the back of neck area therefore leaning back on any type of head rest will render the device useless.The noise: yes the device makes a noticeable low whirring sound, which I eventually tuned out and got accustomed to and later didn’t bother me as much. I thought to myself, “ I suppose that is the sound of fresh air. “I had high hopes for this product biitnInwas extremely let down by the design and quality. The box is fancy like iphone packaging but, The personal air purifier felt like a cheap, creaky, plastic toy. The provided usb charger was cheap and the adapter was clunky and dated. My office is located in a diesel garage so I was looking forward to this item coupled with room purifier. I was curious to see what debris collected in the filter after a year. As I stated before this product barely made it to 9 months old and was showing signs of charging issues at 6 months.I would not recommend this product to anyone.
