Fantastic for any FFXIV fan!
So far I've only made the hot chocolate, which was extremely decadent, but the book is so much more than a recipe book. It's presented by a moogle and a namazu and they offer their commentary on each recipe which is not just entertaining, but also very heartfelt. I can't wait to try more recipes, but in the mean time I am happy just reading through the book as I look forward to Endwalker.

A fantastic book whether you are a fan or not
I've cooked roughly 12 of the recipes in here and they've all been great so far. I made the 'Minstrel's Ballad' Croissants and contrary to what everyone told me they came out perfectly first and second times. The instructions are really clear and each recipe also has a story blurp relating to the game region the recipe is from at the very top.As a recipe book it can definitely hold it's own, it's got great diversity, a little chart at the back to help you cook for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten free folks, and a beautiful picture of every meal. As a lore piece you aren't going to learn anything earth shattering (except what kupo nuts taste like) but it is very cute. There is a very good bread recipe (Knights Bread) dedicated to the best knight in Ishgard, and some little lore bits about the WOL meeting with Ser Aymeric.Lots of Hrothgar representation in the pictures that aren't related to cooking. It's good to see. I'd love to see a follow-up book.

A beautifully curated cookbook! Perfect addition for any FF fan (or non-fan!)
This cookbook was a christmas present (to myself), I really wanted some themed cookbooks but I didnt want something filled with recipes that I would never be able to cook because they were either too complicated or needed too many things - this cookbook however seems absolutely perfect!I am a picky eater (a vegetarian who doesnt like many vegetables) but out of the recipes, Id be able to eat at least half of them without needing to make any adjustments and the other half have been made in a way that makes it very easy to replace things as necessary for dietary or just personal preference requirements! There is the odd interesting/specific ingredient that most might not have laying around the house and would need to get just for that recipe but I dont think this is a bad thing as maybe only a handful of the recipes need these kinds of ingredients, and it can be a good reason to push yourself to try them. You dont need to be a fan of the franchaise to enjoy this book or the recipes, but if you are then each recipe has a small story (based on and from an in-game perspective) that are such a nice touch and I really enjoy the sense of fantasy realness they add to each recipe, but they arent too long or 'in your face' so they dont take up much room if you are not a fan.The page designs and layout are simple, yet creative and easy to follow and understand, with many helpful things throughout including how much of something the recipe will yield, difficulty and even a page at the back that breaks down which recipes meet which dietary requirements as is (though as mentioned, you definitely are able to substitute for most recipes)Each recipe contains a photo or two of the final recipe, which is personally something I enjoy with cookbooks, but the book as a whole has been put together fantastically and you can see the amount of effort and love of the game that has gone into it which I think even non-fans would be able to appreciate.I counted 78 recipes, including appetizers, mains and drinks to name a few! So there are more than enough recipes in this cookbook to make it worth the price, and it has been so well put together in my opinion and I think even without the themed aspect it is still an amazing, and varied, cookbook! And, as a picky eater, I believe most people will find success with at least one of the recipes - I am most excited about the drinks recipes and look forward to trying them out for myself, and for friends and family to try!

Absolutely delicious and super easy to follow
I’ve tried four recipes from the books so far, all very different, and all have been absolutely delicious. One of them being the chocolate fondants which I’ve been told are apparently very hard to do generally but even though I’ve never made them before they turned out perfect following this recipe.I have a lot of cookbooks but this is by far the easiest to follow and the most fool proof I’ve ever used, not to mention the tastiest. The only improvement that could be made is to the oven temperatures provided. It gives the temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius, however, after making the state beef (and it turning out a little more medium than rare) I’m fairly sure the temperatures provided are for conventional ovens only and so for a fan oven would need to be 10 degrees Celsius less than what’s given. I tried this with the chocolate fondants and it seemed to confirm that since they turned out perfect when I cooked them at 180 as opposed to the 190 that was stated.

I actually succeeded making a cake
When I saw this, I knew it was one of the things I had to have. I am a hobby cook and enjoy doing it.Since I didn't know where to get beet sugar, I didn't follow the book strictly, but I still succeeded!
