The best lens Fujifilm has to offer.
I'll admit I haven't tried all of Fuji's lenses, but after moving to Sony, I can say that this lens is the closest thing to a pro-grade lens that Fuji has to offer, while keeping Fuji's look. It's just a fantastic lens. Can't say much for its video capabilities, but if any Fuji lens is going to serve you well for that purpose, it's this one. Fast, sharp, compact, perfect. Brought it on vacation along with my XF56mm 1.2 and the 56 never came out of my bag because the sheer reliability and sharpness of the 33mm was so... intoxicating. Love it. Get it.

Lens awesome, shipping sketchy…
Outstanding rendering of details, contrast and color. I have to say, however, Amazon took quite a risk shipping this $800 lens in a plastic bag. I appreciate that Amazon is striving to cut down on packaging waste, but high value items like this need to ship in correctly packed boxes.

Nearly perfect
I love the image quality and size of the original 35 1.4, but the autofocus on that thing. woof. It just couldn’t keep up especially in low light.This new 33mm is everything I loved about that original 35 plus blazing fast autofocus. There is a wonderful magic quality to the images it takes.It’s a big lens, for a mirrorless prime. It just doesn’t have quite the same portability as the earlier Fuji lenses, but the trade off is worth it. This is a spectacular lens.

One of Fujifilm's best lenses of all time
Image quality wise this lens is really pushing the threshold of modern optics. It's beautiful, no distorition, great contrast, a nice pop to the images. It has a similar sister lens the 23mm which is optically almost the same but a wider focal length. If I only had one I prefer the 23 for events because I can get larger groups with it but it's certainly possible to cover an entire wedding with a 33 especially if you don't mind stitching 1 or 2 group photos in post. The plus side is the 33 is a better portrait lens. Perhaps people prefer the isolation of a traditional portrait focal length with the 50mm f/1 but that lens is obnoxiously large and loud so it's almost useless for video. Also it's not my style to just chase the widest aperture I can.

The best xf lens i own.
I own 7 top tier xf lenses, they all have their place... But this one is my favorite. It doesn't really leave my body and if it does it's gonna be in my bag. Lighting fast af, immaculate image quality and the 50mm equivalent is a perfect middle ground focal length imo.I shoot a lot of candid street photography, action sports and nature... This lens is welcome on any excursion.I'll never sell it.
