Size:King Wool is known as Natures Best Insulator and High Performance Fabric. We've designed the Herington wool comforter with one thing in mind. To be the highest quality, most comfortable and warmest comforter that you will ever own. We've combined the latest technology with luxury finishes to create the Herington all-natural wool comforter. The wool comes from the Sheep of Australia who are regarded as having the finest and highest quality wool of any sheep in the world. The Herington Comforter is constructed with a 100-percent Cotton sateen shell. The benefit to you is that it creates a shell that has a beautiful sheen, higher luster, increased durability and is smoother to the touch. Filled with an incredible 500 GSM (15-ounce/yard) of 100-percent hand picked, Micraloft Australian wool creates amazing loft and enhanced insulation properties, resulting in the optimum sleeping environment. Quilting was added to keep the fill from shifting or bunching and a corded hem gives it a beautiful and functional finish. The Herington Wool Comforter has an amazing warmth-to-weight ratio making it a perfect temperature regulating comforter that will keep you warmer in the winter months due to the super-fine wool fibers that naturally absorb and wick moisture (sweat) away from the skin keeping you drier and more comfortable. Herington rigorously avoids the use of chemicals in production of our Wool/Cotton comforters and we make sure that all of our products are manufactured from 100-percent all-natural components making an already perfect comforter healthy. We are proudly Woolmark licensed which guarantees that we follow extremely stringent guidelines of quality, purity and fiber content. This assures our customers the best product available. Conveniently machine washable or dry clean. Herington mattress pads also available thru .

The warmest duvet ever!
It keeps warm us in the Massachusetts winter. Absolutely, high quality duvet and it is worth every penny. However, "it is very noisy" according to my daughter's comment :) Due to its cover material (a kind of hard cotton or something similar) it has a sound whole night when you move it. It's not a soft material. As some people commented, we had the slight smell issue (it should be normal because it is real wool) when we got it. I kept it in dryer for 1 hour with a few drops of lavender oil; all smell is gone. If you live in a cold location, I highly recommend it.

Exellent option
Haven't washed it yet, which is one of the main reasons we purchased it. So nothing to report on how it holds up. However, we're very happy with the insulating performance and warmth. This beats our experience with down. No loose feathers flying around (and our down comforters were always fairly expensive). This is heavy so it can be a bit more of an effort to cover it in a duvet but it's worth it. With two sleeping on the bed, it's weight keeps it in place so no cover stealing. A good thing. My research uncovered that the wool fibers in all washable comforters are specially treated with bleach in order to make it washable so going to any more effort to get this in an organic washable version is negated by the chemicals. So don't spend the extra hundred bucks for the organic versions out there. Or if you're averse to these chemical processes, don't get the washable versions and by all means get the organic.Update: You need a big washer to handle the king size (like the ones measuring 30 inches wide which are the largest available in the US). My washer is a 27 inch and boy was it a struggle.

“Bercosett” treated
The tag attached to it says the wool is treated with “bercosett.” I don’t know what that is but I’ve heard of hercosett treated wool. I bought this because the description here says it is natural, but this doesn’t smell natural to me. If this is treated with something that is like hercosett I don’t know why the description says it is natural wool. Please just shear a sheep and stuff the hair inside a blanket. Also this duvet is THIN! I would be putting it inside a cover, so if the excuse for treating the wool is to make it washable I don’t get that either because I wouldn’t need to wash it. The smell is terrible and strong like chemicals

Would buy it again!
It's heavier than my down comforter. Takes a couple weeks to loosen up. But I love it! I don't wake up drenched in sweat like I did with down. Regulates temperature and has some good fluff. I would buy it again! Coming from Australia it took about a month to get to me (west coast USA)

it's great
Love the comforter. It's warm, but you don't sweat like when under the down one. It has just right weight and feels great. Wish bought it sooner. My down comforter wend bye-bye.
