Literally could not put this down and I read it in one day.
Okay, so I'll be honest: I've been looking forward to this book since I knew of its existence, way back in March of last year. It's literally almost everything I wanted in a novel, especially a sequel, and I'm so happy with it!There were a few little things that made it not completely perfect, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. What a great book.

(young) Adult love in space ends!!!!
when i bought starflight a year ago, i found it on io9's "books to read in march". i was amazed at it, but then duped when i found out it was a young adult novel. when i got over that, it was an amazing romp through space and a young heroine who could stand her own. when you got midway through the tome, you realized she was writing the book as a bridge to something bigger.well, bigger unfortunately came to an early end. Due to sagging sales of starflight (seriously, why did you not buy this book?!), starfall is the end of a planned trilogy.solara takes the backseat for this novel. yes, folks, it is all about cassia and her beau/fwb this time, and that is where i think folks were angry. see, Landers in my opinion, wanted the books to focus on 6 characters, but 2 in each book. i think that is where folks got angry and tons of negative backlash came from this. also, when i read the reviews, i think people do not understand that she got news that the starflight trilogy would be a duology. she had to go through and scrap parts to lead to book three and wrap everything up. she did a great job in it, but like all books which are serialised, you want more. unfortunately, we will not, but both books are great standalone titles, or great as a set. either way, i loved the characters, and hate to see them go.

Loved it!
It was fun spending more time with the fun characters in this series. The main characters in this book are only side characters in the first book and it was fun to get to know them better. Their relationship was pretty messed up in the first book and isn't much better in this one. They both need to do a lot of growing and a lot of soul searching before things come together in the end. It was funny because I had a dream that helped me figure out a major plot line in this book and then it turned out to be true. It was a great read.

A great followup - I'm ready for the next adventure!
Starfall was excellent! I really enjoyed learning more about the characters from the first book, "Starflight," and it was refreshing to have the story take place from Cassia and Kane's perspectives. This adventure went to places I didn't expect - I was definitely surprised at the twists and turns, starting at about a third of the way into the book. Save yourself the stress - if you have read "Starlight," dive into "Starfall!" If for some reason, you haven't read either book, get on it!Melissa Landers, I'm ready for #3!
