Safavieh Soho Collection SOH712H Handmade Starburst Premium Wool & Viscose Runner, 2'6" x 8' , Charcoal / Ivory

We bought 2 of these carpets and they both are high quality and much thicker than ordinary carpets; about 3/4 in. thick. I'm glad we weren't dissuaded by the negative reviews because neither carpet is falling apart like several people wrote about in 2017-2019. Perhaps there was a bad batch a few years ago, but so far after 4 months both carpets are holding up fine and look great. There's no shedding or vanishing starbursts as claimed by others. I may not have bothered to write a review, but when I saw the multiple negative ones on the first page, I thought it right to counteract the negative reviews with our positive experience.

I was so excited when we first opened this, but by the next day the colors of the sunbursts had already begun to look fuzzy and threads were falling out everywhere. I knew we were taking a chance on the rug's quality because of a few other comments; however, there were so many other positive reviews that I decided to risk it. As stated on some of the other reviews on here, the sunbursts start shedding and pulling apart within a day. Hoping these were just lose fibers from manufacturing and shipping, we tried vacuuming it. The shedding was so bad that it actually clogged our vacuum all the way through the entire hose and jammed every part of the vacuum where fibers could go. There were no instructions about care, so we treated it delicately. Unless you will never walk on the rug, plan to clean it using only a soft, damp rag and basically want it just for appearance (even then I would consider roping it off for protection) - the rug is useless. I wish I hadn't even given it a try because now I have to be disappointed to have found something so beautiful, only to watch it fall apart in front of my eyes, and my husband is grumpy because he has to roll it up, try to fit it back into the bag and heft it up to return.

Beautiful rug BUT the (ribbons) began to unravel as soon as I took it out of the packaging!!! I've had this rug for over a month now and the "ribbons" come off daily(SEE PICTURES)! I DO NOT have this rug in a "high traffic" area(thank God I don't)!! It's a disaster to maintain! I sweep it everyday because of the ribbons coming out!! It's beautiful but a headache! I kept it because of how it looks but I don't think it will last much longer! I was delivered a "round" rug instead of what I ordered (square). Amazon did rectify the situation! If the ribbons didn't fall off daily, I would've given this rug 5 stars!

I love this carpet and would buy it again but you have to just be careful as the fabric that makes up the stars is easily pulled out by cats, moving furniture on it and sometimes the vacuum can take a few.It is not pulled up by walking on it.It does show any clawing by cats on the blue party but I pulled the fuzz up and it was not too noticeable.I am always evaluating carpets based on having cats. lol. I think this one is way nicer than the berbers which pullup long threads and ruin the whole look.I recommend this carpet highly. Plush, feels great under bare feet and laying on it.Thick and gorgeous. A real bargain

It’s super pretty and goes with my bigger area rug! I can see that some of the bursts might come out as a few did already after a few minutes! I’m gonna keep it. I wasn’t happy when it said delivered and I had to go searching for it on someone else’s doorstep as the driver got the unit wrong!! One job... to deliver! The unit number was correct after I miraculously found it I felt like a porch thief!! 🙄

I've had this rug for about 2 months and it is not holding up well. When I bought it, I thought the starbursts were going to a higher cut carpet pile. I found out that the starbursts are made of little pieces of satin ribbon.Not only do these pieces of ribbon easily pull out, but they also frayed the first time I vacuumed it. I'm disappointed, this rug was beautiful. Sadly, I have to return it. I wont be getting a replacement.

The rug is lovely but the decoration makes it challenging to vacuum/clean well between the intricate design elements. It was originally intended to be our dining room rug, but I could just imagine crumbs getting wrapped up in the fibers and never getting vacuumed out. It’s now doing a fine job of being a guest room rug. It also sheds like crazy but I have to assume that will lessen over time.

When the rug was unrolled, pieces of the sunburst decoration, went flying all over our room.A BIG mess.As well, it's very pretty rug in the picture, but not the same color as shown.It is blue, not green or aqua at all.In the picture it looks as if the 'New Zealand Wool' has a patina, it doesn't, it is very flat, without sheen.The starbursts are made from a hard ribbon, almost like a thin satin wrapped cardboard, which break off when walked on, so it cannot be used for the purpose for which it was intended, i.e., as a rug to be walked on.It has only been on the floor in an empty guest room for 3 days, and it is already losing integrity as a carpet.I have to say, this flaw could NOT possibly have gone unnoticed by the manufacturer, so I am NOT happy at having it passed off to us with the decorations already broken off, and continuing to do so.SAFAVEH, if I had wanted a fragile tapestry, I would have bought one, you should be ashamed at passing off this defective mistake to your customers.
