Great kettle takes about 5 mins to warm up 1/2Gal of water.
I got this to replace a plastic Kettle that broke. and it has worked really well. It heats up about 1/2gal of water in about 5 mins. Its easy to use because its separates from the bottom cord part. Its all Ceramic except the inside bottom is metal, Its easy to pour and the top is firm. Easy on and Off switch. only Con the whole thing gets really hot so you might not want to have kids around touching it or knock it over. .

Heats up fast but do not leave while in operation.
Does not turn off automatically even though it is supposed to.The first time I realized it did not auto turn off half the pot evaporated. From then on, I have been timing and turning off to avoid a problem.

Died after just one year of using
1st one I bought died in one year one month which just right passed the warranty period. The 2nd one also died in one year and 2 months. So, don't buy this product. It will only last one year and two months.

Burned in months
I actually bought this kettle twice. The first one worked well for about three years, so I bought a second one. However, the second one got burned in few months. We smelled the burning rubber and found whatโs in the picture after tearing down the kettle, the red one got burned.

Burnt Out After 2 Years
This Cimerac kettle worked fine for 2 years until one of the connections burnt out. It's also rusting out around the heating element, which means moisture was getting in somehow. I went to their website to see if they had a replacement part, but it's defunct.
