Works great and I like the stainless steel material.

Owned less than one year. The pull string has broken twice. The first time I tied it together and the second time it was not fixable. I would not recommend this to anyone. Waste of money!

Sturdy and ultra functional!!!!!!

On receipt of this Stainless Steel Salad Spinner, the corner of the product box was bashed in, which would have been sad, had this been for a gift. However, it was for us and there was no damage whatsoever to the beautiful Salad Spinner. I will say that this is the most beautiful Salad Spinner I have ever seen, most of them being plastic. I like that the bowl may also be used for serving, as storage space is limited and multi-functional is always good. I was very much looking forward to the pull string function, as the hand spinner on the top of my current spinner is more tasking. This Salad Spinner comes in four parts (see pictures), so I washed them all up, ready for use. Speaking of which, this Salad Spinner is dishwasher safe, however, I usually just quickly wash mine up and set it aside to dry.After experimenting with the pull string, I found it sometimes went back in nicely, which is wonderful. However, sometimes it would just stay out. If it does that, you only have to remove the lid and hand-wind it back up, which is not horrible, but it does defy the point somewhat. Perhaps it is me and I will get better at the pull string over time, although I felt I did it the same each time, not pulling it all the way out.I had some fresh spinach to wash, so I decided to compare this beautiful new Salad Spinner with my current one. This Stainless Steel Salad Spinner is, by far, more beautiful than my plastic one and I love the idea of the pull string over the twist knob, which is sometimes a bit dizzying. I washed the spinach in a big glass bowl, as I like to swish it around and make sure it’s very clean and any hidden soil is removed. I then put half of the spinach in each of the two Salad Spinners. They both worked well. It did take a few more spins with this Stainless Steel Salad Spinner than my old one and the spinach looked slightly more beat up after (pictures below). However, again, it is multi-functional and very beautiful AND it does do the job. Overall, I prefer my old Salad Spinner, but this Stainless Steel one is very pretty, multi-functional, and I may get better at the string pull over time.

We eat a lot of salad at our house and the plastic salad spinners we have been buying keep breaking and warping so I wanted to just invest in a stainless steel one that would last longer.I’m pretty disappointed with this salad spinner. I couldn’t find the size anywhere in the description beyond it saying it was “large.” My current salad spinner is a 4qt and I figured being described as large this one would have to be at least as big but it is definitely a little smaller. The pull string mechanism is also not nearly as good as the pull string one I currently have. If you pull on the string slowly it will just pull out and hang there. You have to pull it just right to get it to have the force to wind back up and while you are pulling it it kind of jerks and pulls, it is not smooth at all. After you’re done and get it to pull back in you will still have some of it that just hangs out. My other one always automatically winds in whenever it isn’t in use. It also came in a really worn box, the pictures and writing are really faded. I took pictures but they don’t show the fading really well. It looks like it’s been sitting around for years. I gave it three stars because it does work but for the price, I would probably go with something else that has a different pull or spin mechanism and doesn’t look like it’s been sitting in a warehouse since the 90s (especially if you want to give it as a gift). Received this product as described. There are four parts of this product. The main bowl is stainless steel and well made. There is a black plastic base that goes at the bottom. It has a plastic basket spinner, and the black plastic lid with pull string.I washed each part by hand before I started using it. I also wash every part after using it and hand dry it. You have to pull the string slowly and dry it with town as once it goes inside the water may get trapped and not get dry. Other parts are easy to clean and dry. The bowl is multi-purpose. I make it a service bowl and looks beautiful.The spinning works well, it spins find even empty but the key is when you are pulling the string, pull it faster and once done pulling release the string loose as the lid spinning is able to pull the string in for next spin. If you pull too slow, or release too slow, it will stop spinning. It is like Yo-Yo toy.Overall, the salad spinning works great. The only thing I wish it had different was little sturdy plastic or may be all still basket and spinning base. There were some rough plastic finishing on the basket and base. Not a big deal as I only use cold vegetables with it. Otherwise, great product at good price.I received this product at discount.
