Simple Touch - Overcharge Prevention Timer - Overcharging Protection Auto Shut-Off Timer - for Cell Phones, Tablets, and Laptops

Bought 4 of these units in December 2017. The functionality - 1 2 4 6 8 hours on - is fantastic. Have been using them with heaters and humidifiers - up to 1,000 watts, where they are great. However, a week ago (May 2017) our neighborhood had a few short power interruptions. Since then 2 of the units that were plugged into heaters, but not running, have failed. The button and lights work as before, the heater comes on, but the countdown doesn't work, for instance a 1 hour setting is still on 2 hours later. I noticed these 12468 units did not have the UL lab certification that older On1248 units had. I also notice the failed units are cooler when plugged in than the 2 that still work, that escaped the power interruptions. My engineering background suggests that a portion of the power supply, that runs the timer, failed. I hope the design defect will be corrected in future, so I can give 5 stars.Ordered 2 more on June 6, 2018, and they worked until Feb 25, 2019 when we had another hours-long power failure from a windstorm. A new unit connected to a small load (humidifier) failed in the same way as above. Button, lights and relay still work, but it no longer turns itself off. I think the power glitch fried the timer circuit. Was hoping the flaw had been corrected by now, but no. Won't be buying any more of them. A shame. Downrating to one star.

Works great for everything except what the title says it is for! I put all of my nerd credibility on the line when I say that this product is 100% completely useless for Cell Phones, Tablets, and Laptops. All of these devices, and anything similar to them have lithium batteries. Lithium batteries cannot be overcharged*. Why the asterisk? Because technically you can overcharge a lithium battery, but when you do this they explode into an inferno and burn your house down. If your house has not burned down, your device is not overcharging, and you don't need this product.That being said, this product is still awesome for everything that does NOT have a lithium battery. I use it for things with dumb chargers for NiMH and NiCd batteries. Prevents them from overcharging, which hurts battery life for these types of batteries. It would also be nice for things like curling irons, coffee makers, and lamps.

I purchased this particular one because one of the other models, first selection was continuous on. Now I know if I had continuous on selection I would be too lazy to pick one of the other selections. I specifically bought this for two reasons one for my cell phone charger and two for my percolator coffee pot. I'm permanently disabled and because of that I'm not in a hurry anymore so I purchased a percolator coffee pot because I'm a little slower than I was three years ago now I enjoy a pot of coffee and I don't have to get off my lazy butt to go turn it off or worried about burnt coffee in the percolator from time to time when I leave the house it's nice to know that the only heating appliance that I use other than the stove is going to be turned off. This is not a timer where it goes on and off but a select timer run only this company has different models that do different things. But this particular one I can plug in my coffee pot push the button one time coffee will percolate and stay hot for 1 hour 90% of the time I'll drink all the coffee I want to drink in an hour now for cell phone charging newer cell phones the regulator will prevent battery damage from leaving it plugged in but still good idea to have some sort of extra seat protection most cell phones now charged up in less than 1 hour fully so with this plugged in not only would you be saving electricity by not running a transformer on 24/7 but you would also prevent possible battery damage due to overcharging. Now I'm not married anymore but if I get married again God forbid this will definitely be plugged into the bathroom for curling irons. Possibly could be used for an iron butt when's the last time you met a woman that actually irons.

The whole point of me getting these is so I can stop the flow of electricity. I do not want to needlessly waste it. I noticed when I plug these into the wall with no timer set, they get hot after about 30mins. It must be pulling electricity while it sits there not being used. Great idea, but the implementation needs tweaking. Also there are no returns with this item, thanks Amazon...

Three timers were purchase; first lasted for about a year; had to replaced with second and it lasted less than a week; third one is now in use for one week. Who knows other than the Shadow how long this one will last. Okay in operation but very poor in longevity of service.

It is handy device to have if you tend to forget your coffee machine. However, it broke within a year and I had to buy a new one, so the quality might not be great.

Easy. I use one to turn off power to some battery chargers (as back up safety). I use another to turn off electric heater or a soldering (in case I forget to do so). Many uses. Very quick and easy to set. Also might provide some safety if your pet tends to get into your electric cords (I have a house rabbit).

My Ninja Coffee Bar doesn't have an automatic shut off so I bought this to make sure my coffee maker turns off after an hour. Works perfect.

I like everything about this product for use with charging my ebike and escooter so the charging won't stay on constantly. It works well in every way after almost a week of use. That being said, one of the two DIDN'T WORK (manufacturer defect). The price is reasonable even if they fail do help me on it but still, pay for two = get two working units right? SELLER PLEASE CONTACT ME.

Easy settable times as not to over charge batteries. Use it for Mercane Widewheel Pro and Lectric XP bicycle. A must if you lead a busy life.

A very simple countdown timer for my chargers and heater, working so far
