Q: Are these wired as a standard closed-circuit trs? do tip and ring each have their own pass-thru connections that drop when a plug is inserted?

Yes. When a 3.5mm stereo plug is inserted, the pass-through is broken and connection is made to the plug contacts. The jacks are quite sturdy as well. I recommend them!

Q: does it come with a diagram or schematic? 0.6 inch means 5/8"? can someone put a schematic adding this in between speaker wire. thanks

No but there are plenty of tutorials online to work from. unfortunately unable to add pictures for diagram.

Q: What's the diameter of the drill hole for the panel mount?

The specs say 6mm, but I started with 4mm and increased the drill hole size slightly each time till I had a fit that I was happy with.
