Introducing Portland Rotorworks innovative ledESC - an electronic speed controller with integrated ultra-bright LEDs. Although designed for orientation use with acrobatic line-of-sight flying, they work great for FPV setups to stand out in the crowd. The on-board LEDs are extremely bright, easily usable in bright daylight at LOS distances. Specifications - Weight (Bare): 5g - Weight (Wired: 10g - Max Current (Continuous): 20A - Max Current (Burst): 28A - Onboard BEC: 5v 2A LBEC - Input Voltage: 2-4S (7.4v - 16.8v) - Software: SimonK - Bootloader: SimonK

Very cool!
Really solid for a 20A ESC, especially compared to a lot of the other things in the market. It's bigger and slightly heavier than the rest, but all of that was put into using better components and having this thing designed by the book. The big ATMEGA8A is easy to locate and reprogram if you're into that, the linear regulator is oversized and reliable, and the FETS are bigger than what you'd usually see and have a proper heat sink on them. This thing will definitely be a lot more reliable than other '20A' ESCs. The cap is also neatly tucked away and the LEDs are wicked bright 1-2W and on a separate circuit entirely from the normal ESC stuff; color is selectable via a simple switch.Downsides: the soldering is not 100% and is clearly hand-done at a couple of places, so make sure to double check all your pads and thru-holes to make sure there is a good connection. Also, having both your input power wires be black is a dangerous game, but power and ground are clearly silk-screened on the board. Not a big deal for the electronic-literate but your average stick-twiddler might be a little offput by it.

Quality!
Using with 920kv dji motors on a custom quad, 1090g, 3cell- lightweight escs, barely even warm while using 1047 props and flying hard, one spent over a month parked in the top of a tree and still working fine! only con is that the leds can't be turned off... not a bad trade-off for quality and simplicity... no need for extra weight and wiring for lights, awsome upgrade from 32gram 30amp bulky escs- 11grams each after soldering, bare 14ga wire fit nicely into the smaller copper connections and easy n fast to solder... neat install. maybe the signal leads could be a bit longer, mine is a 660mm diagonal tho... 550 and smaller or repositioning closer to center might not need to use extensions, but i prefer to keep EMF interference down by seperating all electronics as much as possible ;) (selling by the pair or 4pk would be nice too... hint, hint)
