Panasonic FV-0510VSL1 WhisperValue DC Ventilation Fan with Light, 50-80-100 CFM

This thing is great! Whisper is correct, this thing is pretty quiet compared to my old bathroom exhaust fan. It is super effective at moving air from the shower, while not blasting my ears off. The light is surprisingly bright, but not too bright. I was a little wary of spending this much money, but I read prior reviews about Panasonic Bathroom Exhaust Fans so gave it a try. It is totally worth the investment since this is something you use everyday and helps keep your bathroom mold free. The installer had no issues with putting this in. It looks great in my bathroom. I would recommend this exhaust fan if you have been looking around and feel unsure about what to get. I don't think you would regret it!

Nice fan. Quiet. Light works well enough. Little bit of a spot light, but I like the color temp of the light. Not a simple replacement fan. Unfortunately, fans with the cool bracket that fits between joists doesn’t come with a light. This one with the light mounts to the bottom of a joist. So I had to cut away a lot of drywall and patch. Hopefully this fan lasts a long time and I don’t have to go through that again any time soon. Still vastly better than the 20+ year old fan it replaces.

Beware! Two things you need to be aware of. FIRST there is NO adaptor included to convert the oval to round outlet for connecting the duct venting. Also I could not locate an adaptor anywhere on Amazon, nor did the product or the manufactures site list or recommend any. So you need to connect the round duct venting to the oval outlet, which leads me to the second issue... SECOND when you connect the 4" round duct venting to the oval outlet it can cause slight noise that sounds like the fan is defective. This caused me to send one of two fans I ordered back. On the exchanged fan we found out what was causing the noise. I ordered two fans and the first one went in fine and made no sound, except for the air flow. The second one had a sound that sounded like it was coming from inside the fan, so I exchanged it for another and we had the same issue. Well it turns out just prior to sending them both back we found that when you connect the 4" duct venting to the oval depending on how tight the connection, it may cause the fan to make a noise that seems to come from within the fan. The contractor finally got it to work so there is not noise now, but it cost me his time to figure it out. Unless they include the adaptor from the oval to round for the vent duct to connect to, I would NOT purchase this fan. Of course if you are aware of this and are connecting differently they you are probably fine. The contractor said he never had these issues with cheaper fans. For the price they should include the adaptor or at least mentioned it in the product description, about needing the adaptor and where to get an approved one that fits the fan's oval outlet. Extremely poor that they make no mention of this at all. I cannot be the only person who experienced this. In summary I give the fan 5 stars for operation, but one star for installation issues and the poor product instructions/parts, i.e. not including the adaptor . Which brings me to the 3 star review. In hind sight I would not have purchased this fan due to the oval outlet, as I did not need the slim design and the less expensive fans would probably worked just as well. If you need the slim design then this probably works, but be aware that the oval outlet makes it difficult to connect the vent ducting It is a shame as I love the fan, but the installation issues out weigh the functionality of the fan.

Slow ramp up to full speed but even then it is quite quiet. Provides good lighting. Sucks the steam and stench right out of the bathroom.

Doesn’t come with the necessary bracket for an easy installation. Goodluck, mounting it without it. If two joints aren’t in the perfect placement, the average homeowner, will not be able to install it. Buy with caution.Otherwise, the fan is nice and no complaints on that part. Every Panasonic fan I’ve come across has had the bracket needed from the electrician supply house, at my job. The only I ordered on Amazon was missing it.
