This hardy sun loving plant will become a real eye catcher within just a few short years. They have few pests, and are very drought tolerant. They also grow with little care, as long as they have plenty of sun & no frost. May not have roots started but will survive without them. Flowers occasionally and perfect for all gardening. Cacti and succulents will do quite well under the same conditions which would be considered neglect with other plants. Avoid watering until rooted to prevent rot. Watering: The most common problem people have with cacti and succulent plants is overwatering. They are 'water storing' plants and will do better with less water than they will with more. Since every situation is considerably different, there is not set time interval for when to water cacti and succulents. It is preferable that they are kept in a warm bright location for the best results, and the most beautiful color. Planting and care: Simply place about 1/2 way into well draining soil and water occasionally. Avoid watering until rooted to deter rot. Generally, cacti and succulents like to be kept warm and bright and the soil dry. Cacti are very tolerant of less than ideal circumstances, but better conditions derive better results. It is difficult to provide precise rules pertaining to the watering of cacti and succulents. Cacti should not be watered during their period of dormancy, which occurs during the winter months. During winter, keep cacti dry, especially if kept in an environment with a fairly low temperature. Natural light can be supplemented by an artificial light source.

I love the look of this cactus, but I don't know if it has rooted as yet. I haven't taken it out side to see if the medium I put it in has made it. take root.Hopefully it will take root soon so I can plant it out in my garden.

This plant is beautiful and each of its leaves has colors varying from blue to turquoise to purple. It arrived healthy, on time and with no hassle. The only reason that I'm giving 3 stars is that even though it doesn't have spikes, it has something worse: instead of each spike, it has thousands of short, fine bristles that easily stick to your hand (not one at a time, but hundreds) and get under your skin and are hard to remove, even with tweezers. If you plan on having this plant, make sure you keep it in a secluded area, out of reach of children, animals, people, etc. !

Very satisfied!
Very satisfied! Came in 9 inch tall and 6 inch wide in the middle! Still had some purple with shipping it! Wear gloves unpacking!
