Yes, it works for PVC doors. Just make sure using the wall anchor and the PVC panel is thick enough for the wall anchor which is a 1.25-inch minimum.

Q: Hi, does anyone know if this is compatible with a security door that has a steel core?

You may need to drill and tap M4 threads on the steel core. Instead of using the wood screws that come with the product, M4 machine screws are needed for the threaded hole. Another option is to drill some hole in the steel core door that is 0.1mm to 0.3mm smaller than the M4 wood screw and forces the wood screw in. Do not over torque it since screws may break.

Q: Is it possible to remove the 4 steel knobs along the bar, as they hit the wall when I open the door making it so I can only open the door halfway?

Removing the four steel knobs is possible, but this is not easy. We use very strong glue to bond the threaded stub and knob. After the steel knob is remove, there will be a threaded stub or thru-hole there which may not look good.
