Great Product!
There are three identical HVAC actuators in 2006 - 2013 Impalas and 2014 - 2016 Impala Limiteds. Two adjacent teeth on the intermediate gears of all of them WILL eventually sheer off. (There is also a 4th HVAC actuator of a completely different design inside the dash, but that one practically never fails.) An incessant clacking sound coming from inside your dash is a sure sign that you have broken teeth inside one or more of these actuators, and it's nearly always this intermediate gear. This kit makes it possible to rebuild one of these actuators with a stronger part to hopefully provide a much longer service life. Considering what a pain they are to replace, this a HUGE advantage over simply replacing one with another part manufactured with equally weak materials. I know the pain, because I have now replaced all three in my 2016 Impala Limited.

Installed and the actuator is still making the same 'broken cog' noise. Not sure what the issue is because all of the teeth on all of the gears seem to be intact, but installing this ultimately did not fix my issue - your mileage may vary. I think the biggest issue here is that this single 'better quality' gear is about the same price as an entire new actuator on Amazon. The value would be better for this product if it replaced both gears with the higher quality material that they advertise for this product that way there's no doubt that it will fix the problem long-term.

Be patient
So far so goodGear change was simpleGetting the unit out of the car was a pain, getting it back in was a bigger painNow I know why shops charge so much for this job. Not easy, at least on my 04 Monte Carlo

Great Fit-Perfect Solution to Worn Gear on Actuator
Money well spent. Removed old gear which had missing teeth, lubed this new one, replaced the cover and put the actuator back in. Painless. One of the easiest repairs I've been able to do.
