What type of wood are these wood circles for crafts made?

I dont know what type of tree they come from but they are nice wood circles. I use them for making round door signs.

Are these wooden blanks suitable for Mother's Day and friendship gifts?

They are very thin but my daughter made beautiful door hangings with them as gifts and they worked perfectly. She both painted and stained them with no issues.
