Comprehensive, Wonderful Photos and Information
This book was worth every penny. Very insightful. Great pictures they bring the text to life. Just what I needed to gain a better appreciation for the works of art that I have fallen for. The book was in the condition described and came exact when predicted. Well done.

One of 4 best books on Oriental carpets.
An important book to anyone interested in Oriental rugs. Well written with excellent color plates. Try and purchase the 1992 edition used. The color plates are more accurate. The 2016 edition is the exact same book - no updates- but smaller print and pages with less accurate color plates. The earlier edition is much preferred.

the plates are low quality
the information is great but the pictures are low quality. someone who is interested enough in tribal rugs to want this level of info will be willing to pay more for high quality glossy plates.

Too in depth, not that useful
If you want a useful guide to carpets this is not your book

Fantastic photo gallery
Some of the most amazing photos of rugs I've ever seen; lots of history here, and photos of the tribal peoples who wove the rugs; stunning book!

The book description is inaccurate as it is a mimeographed copy.
Whereas the description claims the book contains coloured photographs, it has poor black and white reproductions of the original edition. For a book on carpets that is a big disadvantage.

disappointing
Cheaply printed on poor quality paper. I believe this is a reprint of a much superior publication.
