Get Miss Liberty Lit!
This kit was as excruciating to install as was magnificent to see the lighted results! I had a difficult time with this install, and I have to tell you, this is my 6th Lightailing kit I’ve gotten for my Lego sets. It was awkward snd a bit trying to break down parts of the model and having to work with these delicate electrical wires for this particular model. . The YouTube video referenced in the directions is for the standard kit for this model and not the light controller version which is different to install. You do not get the same pedestal lighting effects for all 4 sides as you do for the standard lighting kit, as the backside is not allocated any lights. In return, you get a light for the crown of the statue and remote controlled changing color and effect modes for the torch and pedestal. Fully installed, I love the results! Key advise - watch the YouTube installation video to get acquainted with some of the techniques used for component installation, but follow the printed installation manual to a T, and you should be fine.

Fantastic Historic Site to work on!
I gave this Lego set to my Great-grandson for his 11th Birthday recently. He Loves it!!! He is an avid Lego fan, and a genius at putting them together. This was one of his favorite pieces to work on.

Beautiful! But read other views as well to guide you.
This is my 2nd install of lighting for legos, and like the last one, I HIGHLY advise installing wiring/lights alongside the original build. I think it will save you some time and frustration. NOT for beginners though, its a challenge even for adults. The pros, fantastic lighting on the front and sides of strutcure. Love the ability to change color schemes and patterns with the remote version. The cons, no lighting on the back. Not so clear instruction and I wish a tip/callout was made to have colored lights (pointed up toward liberty) run up through the center like the white lights appeared to be. Would have saved me frustration and manipulation. These thin wires are much easier to weave around knobs of bricks so other pieces fit better on top and beside, rather than shoving a group of 4 together behind or below other bricks.Overall, we love it. And yes like others have mentioned, worth the effort!

Don’t buy from this vendor
Instructions poor and parts missing from the kit. You need to disassemble the Statue to add the lights. We returned it as soon as we realized this was an inferior product.

Fun difficulty level, but very fragile. Connector did not work.
Overall the installment was fun. I tested the lights in advance to ensure they were working. I did mess up the first set of lights in the installment, they're just too fragile. The connector and the remote would not work. Was a bit aggravating we had to seek out a remote battery for the price we paid for this kit. Connect never once worked, Remote could turn on but wouldn't work otherwise. The battery pack works fine, but overall, it's a hassle to deal with because one of the light sets is so much shorter than the others. Impossible to plug into an extension or other outlet. Eventually due to all the problems I just removed all the lights.

Worth the Effort
The manual lists about 160 steps, and while maybe not quite that many discrete steps, trust me, it is a lot of work. It took me about 4 hours of solid work to install these LED lights. It requires careful dissection of your assembled LEGO structure, careful handling of the wires and LEDs, and careful reading of the manual with decent if not great photographic detail. When finished (you need both AA batteries if you don't have an USB power supply nearby, and a CR2025 battery for the remote) it really is a beautiful addition to the LEGO Statue of Liberty. No, my wife would not let me display this in any public area of our home, but it is possibly nice enough to do just that. I have some minor concerns. It seems a bit overpriced. However, it requires hand assembly at the "factory", shipping from China, perhaps some licensing fee to LEGO?, the cost of the inexpensive parts including the remote control, and some design work and including how to retrofit into the assembled LEGO structure. Also, it all fits together quite nicely, but not perfectly. Some wires are visible, though fortunately they are in the back of the structure. The small thickness of the wires still leads to pieces not quite snapping together as perfectly as normal LEGO pieces. If I had the patience I would have used a Dremel tool to carve/drill out some small grooves for the wires......
