Don't follow the instructions! Read this first!
This seems to be a very tough tank weld and it fixed the leak that I had (which I will describe further on), BUT, the most important takeaway from my review is DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! Because if you do, you will end up with an unbearably hot, rock hard bag of glue! The glue will start curing by the time you finish mixing it in the bag! It is EXTREMELY important to first empty the black compound, and then empty the white compound beside it. I would recommend doing this on a party paper plate. And when everything is ready, start mixing the two compounds together with an 1 inch wide wood shim. If you do it my way the glue will cure in approx 8-10 min from the time you start mixing, vs approx 3 min from the time you start mixing if you mix it in the bag like the directions tell you. I know because I tried it both ways. I used it to fix a large rusted and pitted area or a John Deere 2640 gas tank, and the fix seems to be incredibly sturdy! I hope this helps somebody! God bless

Durability and ease of applying it
Bought this kit to patch a top leak but it sealed so well it's become a permanent fix. Going on 2 years now. You do not have much time once this stuff is mixed to get it on the tank and get the patch in place. So be fast! Saved me buying a 800 fuel tank.

Works
This works well.I ordered two of them but only ended up needing one.The packaging could have been better. Both of them came with some of the fiberglass unraveled and sticking out from the bottom of the box.If you have not worked with this stuff before, it is nearly impossible to cut the fabric without it falling apart.Mine completely unraveled, so I just ended up squishing the fiberglass into the epoxy.Once its dry, it does become brittle. It has a little bend, but cracks/shatters.Where I am using it, it will not bend, so it's not a problem for me. If you are using it on a plastic gas tank it might be an issue if it flexes a lot.

Truly works.!!!!!!!
This product helped save a 30-year-old gas tank on a log splitter. Have everything ready and sanded and cleaned and ready to go. Once you mix this epoxy up it will get hard in just a couple of minutes. Wear gloves! The pack age gets extremely hot and will flow out perfectly and will harden right up and be able to use the part in no time. Do not think you have all the time in the world to work with this product. it will harden almost immediately and will get extremely hot in your hands!Hands down a great product and will save some really expensive parts that can't be replaced easily.

Preparation is the most important thing!!
Mixed feelings about this one. I’ve used JB Weld for years, but, only tried to apply it where I thought the product would function best. I had a crack in a fuel tank. I was able to clean everything off of it, while in the car, and with the help of a electric solder iron did the repair. It was difficult to get it 100%, still a slight bit of sweating. When the tank was completely dry and completely clean, I applied the JB will patch kit. it was a difficult process!! Laying on my back, applying this upwards, trying to get the cloth and the Epoxy in the right position. I wasn’t really happy with the job. However, the leak went away. For about four months the Repair seem to be good. As I feared, the leak came back. I removed the old JB Weld, which didn’t seem to have very much adhesion , it came off in one big clump. Re-solder the area, this time with the gas tank cap off so there was no pressure, and reapplied a new JB Weld tank repair kit. This time, I did not use their nylon material, I used metal screening, and, I mix the epoxy in four different batches, it is much easier to work with and you’re able to layer it in a much more efficient manner. As of now, as before, the patch is holding. We’ll just have to see where it goes in the future. I’ll continue to use JB Weld products, as always, the preparation of the site, and how it’s applied is pivotal whether or not this cold patch works effectively. If the leak continues to return, I’ll post that in the future.

Repaired Farmall 504 diesel fuel tank
I used this kit to repair a pin hole on a Farmall 504 diesel tractor fuel tank. I was working on fixing a loose steering shaft so had to pull the fuel tank. Found a big mouse nest on the front of the tank. After cleaning up the inside and outside of the tank I found a pin hole. You can no longer buy these fuel tanks so to repair it was my only option. I cleaned up the inside of the tank, then used a fuel tank liner on the inside and applied two of the J-B Weld 2110 patches to the front of the tank. I filled the tank with water and no leaks!
