Q: Does it slide easily under the record when lifting it off the turntable mat? There's no mat on the turntable in the video.

The fleece side slides under most vinyl records very easily. Like in the video, I also don't use turntable mats on either of my tables and don't have any issues getting the end under the record. I'm guessing that a turntable mat might get in the way and get picked up along with the record..

Q: Is the record butler washable? after cleaning a few lp's, seems like the dust/dirt collected on the record butler could cause damage to future vinyl.

The RecordButler cannot be washed. Records that are too dirty should be cleaned first with a proper velvet or carbon fiber brush. Limit the RecordButler to general handling and light dusting jobs.
