Putting our tiki fire pit on the wooden deck was worrisome even with the legs of the tiki pit. This fits perfectly, exact diameter where all 3 legs sits on the outer rim of the mat, no wobble. An extra insurance and peace of mind when I light up the fire pit.

The Round Ember Mat for Under Grill Fire Pit is much more lightweight than some I’ve seen, which makes me question its effectiveness. It is attractive, with neatly bound edges. It rolls up or folds up easily. A previous pad I had and ruined (it’s a long story) had a silver reflective top and multiple layers. I had confidence in that one. This one is very thin, but perhaps its materials make it safe and effective. I would just recommend that you shop around and see some in person before deciding on this one.

This is a very nice quality mat. It's easily folded for convenient storage and transport. This will be great for using with our little camping-size pellet fire pit at camp or on the pool deck.It's taken me a while to review as I kept hoping I would get the chance to test it to see if this alone would be enough protection to keep my camp pellet fire pit from melting a composite (Trex) deck (testing with leftover boards of course!). Sadly, I have not had the opportunity to do this but would love to hear from anyone who has. For all regular applications, like camping or non-plastic decks it does great.

Got this thick round grill mat to go under my tabletop portable grill. It does the job. It's thick and does protect any table top against the heat. It's easy to wipe clean after using if you get any spills or ashes on it. I will only use charcoal. It's easy to fold up and pack away. The folds come out easily when you go to use it.

It's hard to say what would make an ember mat great. This one meets the basic needs.1. Works as expected.2. Seems durable enough for outdoors under varied weather conditions.3. Went well with our black fire pit, meaning it didn't call attention to itself.It's plain, but would you want a fancy ember mat? Probably not. Black ember mat, black fire pit, everything's fine.A good product and worthy of five stars given the value for the money.
