Scoubidou: A Book of Lanyard & Lacing

Make sure you know if you are ordering new or used. I did not realize as I placed order in a hurry and had bought a used copy which did not include any supplies to make the items. Glad I bought some additional cord separately.

We just got this book in the mail, so I can't speak to the quality of the lace (though I tugged lightly on a piece and it snapped) or instructions but I am truly disappointed that there isn't a single boy pictured in the book. And the girls are all pictured doing extremely girly stuff, or doing it in girly ways: painting nails, having a sleepover, bowling through the middle of legs, giggling in the pool). And almost all the crafts are girly too; beaded bracelets, flip flop covers, hair elastics, etc. I ordered this for my two boys after they got intoGimp at camp and I realize now that all of these projects are very specific to the tubular scoubidou and not transferable. Perhaps this is my fault for assuming that the book would represent a gender neutral approach to lanyards and lace. I'll be interested to see if any of the projects appeal to my kids.

This books was great but not what I expected. I expected it to show how to make a lanyard, and expected lanyard string. It came with round, not flat string making it hard to make the lanyards. But you can still make them, and the book includes some very fun and creative projects. My favorite was the pencil leash.So although it failed to include the lanyards it was no disappointment, and the supplies like the string, beads, split rings, and lanyard clips were in a little box with the book so its very convenient to have them with the book. So if your looking for some rainy day activities, or just some arts and crafts definitely get this.

i loved the scoubidou kit, most of the instructions were very easy and fun, my friend actually had this kit and brought it to summer camp so i made one and it looked so cool! If you want flat lace or lanyard this is not the book for you because the book came with round lace. The round lace is good for all the projects in the book, if you try it with flat lace it doesn't work! Once again or should I say the 6th or 7th time klutz has not disapointed me

My grandchildren and I love this book. We have never been disappointed in any of the Klutz items. They are very well written and they come with items to get you started (or should I say hooked). We had so much fun making the items in this book. It gives you lots of ideas and once we learned how to make the items in the book we started to come up with our own patterns and items! Love Klutz!

the instuctions are easy to follow and it has step by step pictures to help. i bought it used, i just wish it would have had more of the cords with it. would be a goods childrens craft idea.

I gave this to my 11 year old niece for her birthday. The book was great giving her plenty of ideas and there was enough Scoubidou to get her started. If you have a hands on, crafty kid, this is the book to get.

this item is good for kids teenagers and some adults to do together but still some projects were a little hard at first but u get use to it

I bought this book for my 8-year old and we are now onto our 4th pattern. When I first showed her the Scoubidous we had to search for instructions on the internet. The Klutz series is excellent and very user-friendly for young readers. We also have the Klutz book on friendship bracelets. These are fun activities for kids and parents are sure to receive colourful gifts!
