Works well with powered antenna
Used this in line wit a McDuory Outdoor powered antenna for the power pass through. It works well. No detectable signal loss or picture quality difference.

Only 1 splitter, NOT 2, arrived in the pkg!
While the item does work as expected, there was only ONE in the pkg - not 2 as advertised. As the attached photo indicates, it was supposed to be a pkg of 2 pieces - though it appears a sticker was hastily slapped onto a pkg that clearly was only large enough to accommodate one piece. This is deceptive, and while the item works fine (so far anyway) it wound up costing 100% more than it should have. I will NOT purchase anything from this seller again, and I would hope Amazon takes some punitive action against them for this. (Am I the only one??)

Did the trick and saved me from dealing with a long wait for repair.
Went away for a couple of days and when I returned I discovered that the splitter was bad and I could no longer see anything on tv. This was inexpensive and saved me a call to Directv and possibly waiting many more days without the tv service.

Directv SWM Approved 2-Way Wide Band Splitter perfect for connecting two receveivers.
Decided to install an additional directv receiver I had bought from ebay in our guest bedroom. This item worked perfect without any issues. It is made to split the signal from the SWM-8 so that you may connect additional set boxes. Recommend.

it is supposed to split, but second line has no signal...
Didn't work. Assuming that this should split the DirectTV signal, I used it to connect one cable to it (current signal) into 2, in order to connect to my HD DVR. No signal. in the second not powered line. So I'm still with ounly one ignal line into the DVR without the chance to record a different channel that the currently being seeing. It was ok but one of the cable that comes from antena is not working anymore and replacing it is rather dificult (is a Condo, totally wired and there is fiber optic in the same tube, hence the chance of damaginign the fiber while changing the damaged coaxial is rather high... so I thought the using the sppliter I should be able to get the two lines to the HD DVR by using the one the is currently working.... Still would need to think of a solution
