Fixed my fireplace insert
Let me start of by saying that I do like this product. We were going to just buy a new insert for our wood during fireplace, but with our country the way it is good luck finding one. We decided to give this product a try.pros: sealed our fireplace up rather easily. No more smoke billowing out of the top.Cons: EXTREMELY hard to push out of the tube. I'm a woman so maybe for a man it would have been easier. It also stinks to high heaven, and for days.Overall, I would buy again if I needed to.

Great if used properly
Great if used properly. Clean lid mating surfaces till all residue is gone. If not cleaned well the RTV will not adhere to surface. DO NOT USE MINERAL SPRITS. USE A LAQUIR BASE PAINT THINNER. OR BRAKE CLEANER. LET DRY COMPLETLY. Apply a thick amount of RTV to lid edges and contact area of smoker housing. Thick as in tall. This gives a thicker area for easier cutting. Let dry for 2 days. Split (cut) the dried RTV with an exacto knife. This will give you a perfect seal without using any gasket material. You must cut through the RTV or the lid will NOT open. Not everyone understands these instructions. DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU DO NOT COMPLELY UNDERSTAND. You will have a mess to clean up.

AFTER YOU APPLY IT?
Smile as you remove it with the knowledge or just gained! Not permanent men terrible poor simple small applications?A job a good quality gasket with appropriate precision material to apply it!This is better for a fireplace cannabis store but I don't know for sure how much gas in off it does smell for a while but who knows how much damage that may or may not do!Bottom line using small applications only or small patches you should be okay!

QUALITY RTV SILICONE
It is what it says it is - RED RTV ! Just used it last weekend on a fireplace heat shield.. used it to stickmetal to brick and marble to brick.. and it seemed to work out great so far.STICKY STICKY RED SILICONE ! (It has great "tack")It is high quality silicone1. Homogenous2. Dries consistent3. Creamy - squirts out of caulk gun real nice and spreads real smooth in finishing process.4. Sticks well to almost anything. (very similar to automotive gasket RTV) (think of the silicone baking tray, sheets or gloves) Hence, it says it's food safe, and myhope is that it won't "off-gas" toxic fumes

Total disappointment
Product doesn't stick!I cleaned the surface area of my smoker with soap (dawn) and water 3 times. I waited until the surface was completely dry, then wiped the surface with alcohol. I then waited for the surface to completely dry again to apply the silicone. I allowed the silicone to set/harden for 24 hours. The next day I wanted to see if the silicone sealed my smoker chamber, I closed all the chamber doors to test.At first I was totally happy and amazed. It sealed my chamber, no leaking smoker. When I went to open the doors the silicone pealed right off. Needless to say I was disappointed....

Works as advertised!
Works great for what I bought it for and the tip it came with is good. Stinks like you wouldn't believe until it cures (not a knock on the product - just a heads up that if you're buying this for use in your home, you'll want to apply in a well ventilated area if possible)

Good Stuff!
I used this stuff to adhere a high temp gasket to my Traeger Big Tex BBQ Door. Now I can really drive the smoke deep into my bbq meat. It sticks well and takes the heat just like described. Mmmm Good! (But don’t eat it, I meant the BBQ meat.)

Outdoor fireplace
Built a stacked stone fireplace, but the heat kept loosing the silicone I had placed on the bricks. This was especially true on the top layer, which was the most important. This stuff is not cheap, but it works great. One tube did about 18 bricks for me and I have not had them come lose since. Including people constantly putting feet on it.
