Some children will not get to live on a farm. They won't know the difference between a llama and alpaca. This book can help to bring a little bit of farm into your living room, without the smell. We love the Life Size series, and own the Aquarium, Farm, Zoo, and More Zoo. Most likely, every one they put out we will purchase. The photography is done quite well, and there is high amounts of educational value packed into these little books. Each animal has a description, name, and facts about the species. The fold out pages are exciting for kids, and you can see their eyes light up when they are staring right into the eyes of a cow or goat. This is a petting zoo on paper. No less than three little kids have told me this is one of their very favorite books (not to mention a few grown-ups).Frankly, this is such a great idea, I cannot figure out why no one thought of it sooner.Highly Recommend.

We gave this to a one-year-old baby. We were very pleased with the illustrations--but haven't heard yet how the baby likes the book. (You know how it is with little guys: they rip the wrappings off, and look sweetly at the pictures, and then are off to something else.)

My granddaughter (10 months) likes this book and we point out ears, eyes, nose, and especially teeth on all the animals. She may appreciate it more as she ages and can open the folded pages, which she just wants to tear out at this point. :-)

Great for Toddlers
Our 20-month-old was excited by farm animals at petting zoos all summer. So this gift in winter delighted her. The fold-outs of large livestock amazed her. She requested the book several times a day in the first week and then asked for it at bedtime for quite awhile. The fold-out pages need a gentle hand with adult help. A child who likes the sound of ripping pages might cripple some of the photos quickly.

Great for kids of all ages
I work with kids and they love to sit and look at the pictures, name the animals, and tell me the sounds each makes. The information included is interesting and fun, but the life size books make great teaching tools to get kids thinking about animals and how they work in their world. This series is great for getting kids, even the little ones, really thinking and asking lots of questions.

Life size books are great!
We bought 3 Life size boks for nephews ages 2,4, and 6 (Zoo, Farm, and Aquarium). They love them! The littlest guy needs help turning the pages but other than that, they love the pictures. I also bought these for my daughter's 5th grade classroom. They are a huge hit with these older kids too!
