Worked perfectly for my golf sim.
Bought these for my golf sim project and they look great. I've clobbered them pretty good and they held up with no noticable deformation. The room doubles as a movie theater and they really help with the acoustics. The adhesive is very convenient and strong. Might take the paint off but I have no intention of removing them.

Wonderful product if used correctly
Reduced the noise of my built in refrigerator by 75% by placing product on some of the inner cabinet (which was acting like a speaker box.) You only have to cover part of the walls to make it work. This is for sound absorption, not sound proofing. The surface needs to be exposed directly to the sound or noise. Very sturdy but easy to cut to any size with a razor knife. As others have warned, fantastic glue, but it takes precision & patience to tease off the paper backing without removing the glue layer. I found bright light & the tip of a razor knife worked best to separate the paper from the glue. Easy enough to nail or screw in place if you like. Some complained the boards are too thin, but thickness is no issue, since absorption & dispersion takes place only on the surface. I think the bad reviews I’ve seen here are folks trying to soundproof a room (to sound outside) or place the panels behind curtains, etc. They won’t work like that. Would be a great treatment for a music studio or home theatre. I tried several other products before finding this one- it’s a winner- highly recommended for the right application.

Small surprise, has some noise dampening
Looks very sleek, super easy to install the adhesive tape is very sticky and so far it's staying on the door. It's not noise canceling but dampens the noise so it's not as loud and can be tolerable. I fou d it works better to keep noise in than trying to keep noise out. Example is I put the panel inside the door to a room that my roommate plays their TV really loud and I also put the panels on the inside of my door. When I shut my door and kept theirs open with the TV loud I still could hear it (not as loud but still could) when ubshut their door & shut my door it was quiet. I would say good deal for the price

Perfect Noise Reduction for My Office
I installed these acoustic panels on the back of my office door, and they work perfectly. They noticeably reduce noise and improve sound quality, making my workspace much more focused and professional. The panels are slim and unobtrusive, and the gray color blends nicely with the room. Installation was easy, and the 18-pack provided just the right amount of coverage. I’m really happy with how they turned out!

Not effective, but look great
I bought these panels to absorb some of my dog's barking. My wall is 13' X 9' and I bought four packs of the light blue, two of the grey, and two of the black (I ended up with 2 blue and 8 of the grey/black each left over). They look great, and I can confirm that the adhesive is paint safe and effective. But the sound-absorption effect is marginal at best. They're great for absorbing very light noise, but not loud sounds like dogs barking or music. The adhesive is also a bit difficult to work with. It tends to stick better to the paper cover than the panel which makes removing the cover difficult. Also, the panels are not all the same size, which added a headache to this project. You'll definitely need a box cutter to make them fit, and if you're particular about them fitting perfectly with each other, these are not for you, or you may want to hire a professional to install them. Bottom line, I don't recommend these if you're looking for a legitimate sound-proofing solution. I love the design I came up with and am pleased with the color choices, but that's about the only redeeming quality these panels have.

Gave my mom some peace and quiet for her Birthday...
I bought my mom some "peace and quite" for her birthday... did her laundry room and she loves it. These squares make ceilings super easy and I used 8 on the 32x80 door. Full coverage is much easier IMO but not required. Honestly once you get the first 4 up you'll likely go get whoever else is home to make sure you're not having a stroke. These panels are super bizarre as they literally create a black hole effect in a room you thought was quiet. Even sealed in the Amazon box they somehow absorb sound lol. My dogs LOVE the rooms with these tiles as the cave like stillness is awesome. These were the first batch of self adhesive panels I'd bought. They are on par with the others I've purchased as far as noise canceling/look. You can pay more for slightly nicer looking panels but now that I've heard both side by side I will not be buying the next price point up because they simply aren't worth it for me personally. The adhesive is NO JOKE you get ONE shot. Peel the backer off one edge and lay it in place with one hand under holding the peeled backer and the other hand on top of the tile holding the sticky edge in place. When you got it close peel the backer off and VERY lightly press and make sure you're still lined up. Once you press down these are permanent IMO. The adhesive is on par with self stick flooring. I did absolutely ZERO base prep... just stuckem up. The adhesive is overkill which is what I personally prefer. I used blue painters tape mark my borders and edges. If you are doing full coverage you could easily do a whole room in an hour or two max.A large HD paper cutter will cut these perfectly straight. I cut half way across and then flip it and finish the cut. You absolutely could use a utility knife and a good straight edge, BUT if you're doing a whole room get a large paper cutter. I'm using a Wescott 15in 30 sheet cutter. The trick for straight cuts is the half cut. Honestly this puts so little stress on the cutter you could return it... but that's on you.Just ordered 3 more sets for my Dad's office. He doesn't get excited about much, but they were both blown away.
