Buckwheat honey is also very dark in color. As a general rule, darker honeys tend to be higher in antioxidant compounds than lighter ones. Because of this characteristic, darker honeys also tend to be higher in mineral content on average, as compared to lighter honeys. The buckwheat plant is an excellent honey source, sometimes planted by beekeepers specifically for honey production. If you’ve never tried buckwheat – order a small amount and try it first as many either love it or hate it.

I really like the honey but find it odd that there is no label. I did receive what looked like hand written card explaining that they were out of labels that size. First I thought it was kinda quaint but then I thought unusual. Glad I found it cause such an unusual size. Most honey is 16 oz and had not had buckwheat honey before so just wanted a taste. This honey has a very strong flavor, glad to try it.

This is really awful tasting and I been eating Buckwheat Honey for many years. The texture was like it was in the microwave and it was a little heavier than water. It smells and doesn’t taste like True Buckwheat honey. A lot of brands of buckwheat honey this year is definitely not like previous years. I used to have honey bee hives but never got buckwheat honey in my hives but have had darker honey’s with ten fold thicker and that is regular honey. Buckwheat has a taste of its own and usually the thicker honey’s out there.

I really like this honey, it is really strong though but no complaints here the stronger the better. does have a different taste compared to say wild flower honey much darker and stronger. thicker texture as well. still tastes great in my tea and on pancakes too. High quality and great standards. i would totally recommend this to a friend or well anyone who loves the many flavors of pure raw honey .

The honey had to be heated to flow out of the plastic container. At the bottom of the container was an inch or so of semi solidified honey which had to be heated in very hot water before it would flow out of the container with the cap off. I've bought Buckwheat many times and like the sweet molasses like flavor, this honey is not consistent with that flavor. I gave the honey to my sister, she said it may be fine for cooking muffins or to add to sauces.

Careful: This stuff packs a wallop. It's a bit like intense molasses. The strong taste and sharp edge may not be to your liking but on the other hand you may like it a lot, as my house does. We find it unusual and appealing, a highly refreshing change from the usual boring supermarket blah.

Excellent honey! Dark and flavorful and truly a delight for anyone who likes dark honey that has nothing to do with a store bought clover honey. However, it came in a bottle with no label. It would be much more appealing to customers if there was a label with information whether the honey is raw, unfiltered, etc.

Gross tasting.. I'm picky ugh!
