Initially great. Overall disappointing.
I was really hopefull for these lights as they where reasonably priced & had OK reviews. I was impressed when I took my first one out the box. I think they look fantastic! The second box I had however, looked like a returned product (see pictures) the back of the plug had markings, the internal book was all crumpled & the box was damaged right through to the back of the plug. Disappointing. I didn't even try to install this one.Installation was rather simple (as all light switches are?!) It fit inside my existing box with no issues... The screws however, are made of some really bad material I think. So weak and damaged easily - tighten at your own risk. The switch looked great on my wall! As you can see from the pictures! I was so happy, then the pitfall - like so many other people, connection issues. I could not get it to connect to the app at all. I tried everything ... Resetting the router, changing channels, disabling channels, turning switch power on and off. Following all steps in the booklet and on the apps FAQ, YouTube, google you name it! Now I'm not some noob, I have many Google enabled smart products in my home. I don't believe I did anything wrong, but at the end of the day, it shouldn't have been this hard to connect the device (see screenshot 48 mins of screen time I had on the app alone!) I was looking forward to replacing the 14 light switches throughout the home to these. But, that, won't be happening now.A shame, I was really hopefull with this product. I see many people complaining about the 4.0 update on the app. I'm not sure if this was a contributor to the problem or not. But be cautious on this one folks.

The little things that matter
Its the little things that matter, at least i tell my wife that. This light switch works 100%. The software is so much better than when i first started using sonoff products. Wifi finds it quickly and the sonoff servers send the info straight to the Amazon AWS so by the time you open Alexa APP it knows you have a new device and can name it and group it into your home automation system. Please note you will need a neutral wire in your switch socket which usually in UK wiring you will not have. This is probably better suited for a new install. Just because you have a blue wire (or older black) is not an indication of neutral, this is usually the returning switched live, and ideally should have been tagged with a brown sleve. Unless your electrician was working to code or this was done by a home diy man it likely did not get this. The finish on the switch is very good, works seemlessly with finger, voice or routines. Now the grumbles why not 5 stars then. Firstly the contact screws are very soft, and if you use any screwdriver other than a PH0 you will easily cam these out before they are tight. Secondly the 2 screws they send to affix the switch front to the pattress do not fit standard UK sizing, they are too big. As i said its the little things that count and if you threaded out the back box or you have to stop before finishing to go to a hardware store to get 2 screws you're going to be pissed. Come on Sonoff pack the right size screws for goodness sake you package this as UK market because of its size and shape.

Looks and works great
I am very happy with this unit. I purchased the black 3 gang version. It looks great and works well once set up.Initially I had issues pairing the unit - and seems you have to do 2 things after downloading and installing eweLink app on your phone; first switch off 5GHz wifi network mode if your wifi has this enabled, as this supports 2.4GHz only, and secondly reboot your phone.I struggled with discovery until I rebooted my phone, after which the unit was discovered immediately. Then it's a matter of using the unit with the Android app or integrating with Alaexa (or similar?).Do note that this switch requires both live and neutral connections which should be available at the switch if you have a fairly recent built house, otherwise you will find this rather inconveniently located at the ceiling rose and will need to call in an electrician, plasterer and decorator, or give up and install a standard switch. The unit is a bit deeper than a typical dumb switch so you may need to install a deeper box behind the switch (which could also require several trades persons if you're not DIY savvy!)A minor criticism with this unit are the terminal screws which are Phillip's type rather than those which accommodate both a flat or Phillips screw driver, and these seem easy to round off. The supplied screws were thicker than the standard machine screws you get, but that shouldn't be a problem as you can reuse the screws from your original switch. And finally the instructions don't mention that you need to remove the face plate first. This only becomes obvious once you're ready to screw the unit to the wall and then you notice there are no holes for the screws. It's easier to remove before you've wired all the electrics of course!Despite these criticisms, it's worth a high 4 stars

WIll not work on UK Lighting Circuits
So. although this switch looks and feels nice, it will simply not work on UK lighting circuits unless you have a neutral wire present (which in my experience is rare) in your switch wiring. Most UK lighting circuits are COM and switched live without a neutral wire as the wire is only present in the light pendant. Make sure you have a neutral wire run to the switch otherwise, do not bother with this as its useless for most UK lighting circuits.

Incompatibility issue identified... always a good idea to know!
The Meerkats’ Review.Pros...Quality of build 4 ⭐️ - the plastic securing points could have slightly wider flanges to stop it from pinging off the pcb board by an over zealous party with a heavy handed screwdriver.Brightness 4 ⭐️ - this in terms of the touch sensitive panels that illuminate in blue, it has a good decent luminosity.Installation 5 ⭐️ - this is pretty straight forward (I used a 2-gang [2 switches for two lights] for standard kitchen fittings or LED fittings.Cons...Before I post these ratings. The website identified in the product materials reports that it is unsafe even though it is using a https connection. My advice is to to look for an alternative known as ‘itead.cc’ - all the information you need including the correct data sheets and installation downloads in pdf format. Easier to read for some people than the micro print that comes with the products.Connectivity 3 ⭐️ - I found this to be very unstable. The router was not even 2 metres away and yet (according to the destructions) was not connecting to the server correctly. Assuming their meaning of the ‘Server’ being your router.Terminal connections 1 ⭐️ - these are badly designed using the cross head, unlike BS screws which are straight slots. Easily damaged as they are very soft brass, so tighten with caution.Useage 1 ⭐️ - this is my strongest critique of this product. The product manufacturer assumes that everyone uses the same type of lights! These may work excellently in rooms using drop down chords or perhaps that of LED systems. However, these do not work on all LED or fluorescent tubes (round or straight) and it is disappointing that these products do not identify any incompatibility issues, to which I found out only post purchase and installation and, with regret, now have to return the item which was be8nhg fitted in a disabled persons property. Great idea, just didn’t deliver.
