When I first received I was amazed of the size of it
When I first received I was amazed of the size of it. I was expecting somehow smaller, like the world of nintendo cheap version, but his is an actual figurine. Looks good to hold it and appealing to look at it. Quality is sufficient, not extraordinary, but sufficient. Paint look very nice, very clear delimited, nice quality. Somebody complained in reviews that there were spots of paint in other places. Well, if you look really careful, yes, there are. But they are un-noticeable. It has lots of articulation points, but look kind of shabby, so I didn't mess with them, carefully twisting them. The figure is not poseable. Someone could say it's semi-poseable. No. It's mono-poseable. The single good pose you can get is that one you see it in the product pictures and that's it. If you twist the limbs it will start looking un-natural. Maybe if you twist somehow and make some close-up photos you can get something, but I don't know, didn't tried it yet. Overall, I really like this figure and I'm thinking of buying the other 3 of them. I really hope my 1.3 years son wouldn't get his hands on this.

The Phazon Suit- A Metroid Fangirl's Dream Come True
I love this figure. I have a whole bunch of Metroid figures, and most are just the regular Varia Suit Samus. This was a great additional to my collection. Paint is shiny and smooth, and it's great to see a Phazon Suit figure! Since Metroid Prime came out 15 years ago, I had given up hope of ever getting something like this. Glad Nintendo proved me wrong! Here's to hoping the Fusion Suit is next!

Pretty paint but awkward posing.
As a diehard Metroid fangirl who has made it her mission in life to own every miniature Samus in existence, this was a must-buy for me. For those of you who are a bit more level-headed, this isn't quite a *perfect* Samus replica, but if you have a soft spot for Metroid Prime and the gorgeous Phazon Suit, it will not disappoint... too much. The Good: The best thing I can say about this figure is that the paint job is spot on. Fans of the first Metroid Prime will remember the sleek black and silver coloration of the Phazon Suit acquired near the end of the game. This figurine emulates that attractive design well thanks to its shiny metallic finish, which puts it on par with the "exclusive metallic paint" Varia figurine in this line, and leagues above the cheap-looking matte coloring of the "non-exclusive" Varia and Gravity figures. The paint within her cannon is also colored after the suit's signature Phazon Beam, a nice and accurate touch. The Bad: She is indeed articulated, but like the other figures in this line, her joints are not placed in a way that allows for a lot of dynamic action poses. I think the main issue is that her arms are stuck out at an angle, and while they can be rotated, they cannot be tucked in closer to her torso, which makes many of her signature poses (e.g. standing with one hand on her hip or firing while steadying her cannon with her left arm) impossible or just weird-looking. She even looks awkward in the packaging -- you can tell that even the makers of this toy have a hard time making it look cool. Maybe I'm just lacking in creativity, but my main complaint with these figures is that I just can't pose them well. The Nitpicks: -I know I just wrote a paragraph praising the paint job, but there's one odd thing about it: there are dots of orange paint on her shoulder pads. There aren't lights on her suit there in the game, and more relevantly, there isn't paint there on the other figurines, so why.....? -They also forgot to paint the detail lines along the sides of her legs. -Samus never technically looked like this. All of the figurines in this line are repaints of her Prime 2/3 model, and the Phazon Suit is exclusive to Prime 1. (The same can be said of the purple Gravity Suit in regards to the Prime Trilogy.) The Prime 1 model can be characterized by an overall bulkier design (esp. in the shoulder pads), different detail lines on the helmet, and a smaller, less angular visor. This inaccuracy extends to the Morph Ball accessory included with the figure -- as a simple recoloring of the original Morph Ball design, it doesn't match the Phazon Suit Morph Ball's in-game model, which is a recoloring of the oh so gorgeous Spider Ball design. I realize this is nitpicky to the point of irrelevance, but it's still an inaccuracy, and someone had to say it. :P Well, that's about all I can possibly say about this figure (and if you're still reading by now, I'm impressed.) Unfortunately for Jakks, I believe they've exhausted just about every possible repaint they can do with this mold... unless they want to give us a properly painted metallic Gravity Suit *ahem*. Otherwise, let's see some Fusion Suit love next! <3

Somehow it doesn't seem quite as nicely painted as the metallic colored normal Samus
Somehow it doesn't seem quite as nicely painted as the metallic colored normal Samus, and I do think I'll need to do some touching up... However, it is still a great figure. I'm thinking of making a diorama of the Phazon mines to display her in.

Adequate representation of the character. A decent albeit simplified figurine. Limited poses, but great paint application.
