KaneHeat Mat Self Regulated Heat Bed for Dog, Puppy, Pig, Livestock 36" X 27"

I ordered this pad originally for tortoise care, but never got one. So if course, I missed the return window, according to the seller.I recently decided to unpack my $200 heat mat (which had been slid beside the wall and cabinets); and warm up my dogs on the porch. Let me tell you, there are heavy smells coming from this mat. Naturally, I thought it was dirt from the dogs digging in the garden. My husband, who can't usually smell for nothing, finally said (after 2weeks of use) that he was smelling burning electrical wires. I told him he was wrong, because this smell has been there almost the same time...because we've just started using it this winter! But if course, I unplugged it to see if the potting earth soil smell would go away.. Yup, no more dirt smell...which obviously wasn't dirt, but an overpriced unit that didn't work and I'm not surprised, my luck with Amazon seems to not be the best. I feel like I should have warranty coverage...Anyway at least my house didn't burn down or my dogs catch on fire.

EDIT LESS THAN A YEAR OF HAVING IT AND IT CAUGHT ITSELF ON FIRE :D don't disregard the rest of my review because it wasn't super hot. Until it was ON FIRE. So this is either "stone cold" or "ON FLIPPING FIRE. YALL" Two setting. DEAD PET OR ON FIRE DEAD PET. Thanks. ( Clarification pet was not inside but this almost caught THE ENTIRE PLACE ON FIRE ).Doesn't get super hot so no need to worry about fire. Matter of fact - five months after buying it ( only second month of on and off again use because it doesn't always get cold enough here to use it ) it is ice cold :D really great way to ensure your pet has zero heat. Hope it isn't a giant reptile that depends on this to stay alive. Very unhappy considering the price you would assume it would work more than six times before dying completely.Very unhappy with the results. Will be looking into other brands. Buyer beware. It is nice and thin and sturdy. Easy to secure. Just wish it worked.

Extremely dangerous product. Would never recommend. Near fatal. The only reason there is one star, I couldn't not leave a review without marking one.

Bought for a corner of a dog house on cold nights. product works great. Only complaint, I wish the metal wrap on the cord was longer. it only covers a small portion so if you may have "exposed" cord if you can't run it through a hole in the wall.

This isn't as warm as I had hoped, but since my dogs huddle on it after doing their business waiting to go inside, it must be working.
