Fit and forget.

I bought these lights to swap out the G9 halogen fixtures in my under counter lights. Yes, LED G9 bulbs are available but none of the available options (on Amazon at least) had good reviews.I wanted these to be direct wire as I already had switched undercabinet lights. My objective was to use the existing fixture housing and just replace the G9 halogen bulbs and holders with these LED strips.I unscrewed and removed the G9 holders and reflectors in the housing. This gave me the space to install the mounting clips that came with the strip lights and also a hole to run the AC wire into the junction box to connect to AC power.Took me about 90 minutes to do 3 under counter strip lights. The first one took the most time as I took apart the entire fixture to figure out the best way to retrofit the LED lights. I am comfortable wiring up electrical devices, so factor that in if you want to direct wire

Good cord, but not the best at below zero

I'm not a fan of the plastic alternatives and had hoped to find something metallic to work and these covers are absolutely worth the money. I've included three pictures the first one shows the left side of the range and the right illustrates that, for my counter depth, there is a slight overhang because the range doesn't extend to the wall (the electric plug is in the floor and prevents that configuration). Nonetheless, you can see that the range still extends past the edge of the guards. They clean up well, have prevented many crumbs from falling where they don't belong and only required a little bit of shaving I needed to do on the counter (which did result in some small damage to one side of the range but these covers look so nice I'm not concerned about it). Truly a beautiful, well crafted product worth the money.

Good product, good price. These lights were easy to install and illuminate the under-counter area in my kitchen quite well. There is a downside: the screws supplied are inferior, and you have to be careful using a power driver so you don't strip the head. But that's pretty standard today. With a pilot hole and care the screws work fine, the provided snap-in clamps hold the lights well, and the added link wires give you a fair amount of flexibility in arranging the string--you can use the extension link or omit it. I've only had these for a few days, so durability is unknown, (hence, only four stars instead of five) but so far I'm very pleased.

Excellent product! These are not plastic junk. They are precision items, solidly made of brushed stainless steel. They are not going to melt or discolor! I don't understand the prior comment about the gap between stove and counter top not being covered. On my stove, they most definitely DO cover the gap. They fit precisely into the gap, and are held in place by stainless steel spring "fingers". Easy to slide in and out, and can go into dishwasher without concerns.Yeah, they are more expensive than the plastic strips, but they don't look like a discount store stick-on afterthought. They look as if a metal-worker designed a custom solution for my stove. If you have a nice stove and kitchen, these are a professional solution that looks great!

These lights work very well for under-cabinet lighting. We installed them in our kitchen, which is very dark, and they helped tremendously. They are also very low profile, so you can't see them under the cabinets, just the light that they produce. The light is a warm light as described, though it is slightly different from regular incandescent lighting. Still, it provides excellent light and would be a great addition to any under-cabinet area. Because the lights are designed to go under a cabinet, you would not want to use them where they could be seen as they look at bit utilitarian per the picture. The lights do plug into a regular socket, an it is easy to add more lights to the same chain. Overall, a great purchase.

I'm in general agreement with previous excellent reviews. However: (1) note that there is no gap seal for the rear 1" of this device for some reason, (2) these came securely wrapped in abundant shrink-wrap but without any instructions, and (3) the listing says they are easily removed for cleaning but I do not see how this can be done since they fit very tightly and there are grips that expand underneath the counter. Primarily for reason (1), I have assigned a 4 rather than a 5.
