Fun Read!
While Alena thinks she has a short reprieve till the next hero shows up, she's working on getting a legitimate divorce. It would be a huge victory for the supernatural world, as it would been the courts actually recognize super naturals as citizens. Fangs & Fennel starts out with Alena's court date with the judge. As you can imagine, things don't go quite as Alena hoped. The next hero, Theseus, introduces himself to Alena and it quickly becomes clear, he is nothing like Achilles. Where Achilles is the typical meat-head jock, Theseus is a master chess player who is 5 steps ahead of Alena. On top of dealing with Theseus's games, Alena has to deal with everyone's doubt in her abilities. No one thinks she can take care of herself. That she's not a true fighter. I really enjoyed Fangs & Fennel. The story moved along at a quick pace with plenty of action. The ending was fantastic! I'm excited to read the next installment.

Highly entertaining!!!!
What a fun read! I really enjoyed this second book. I can see bits and pieces of the heroine Alena is becoming. She has started to let loose and kick some bad guy butt and I really look forward to what she does in the next book.Remo has definitely turned into quite the hottie, but I am having a tough time on deciding who to trust as far as the rest of the characters except for Yaya. She is funny and I think with her past just may need her own book!I read this book in one sitting. It is a great mix of comedy, Greek gods and I LOVE the cameos!!!! This particular one had me smiling all day!Thank you Shannon for another awesome book!

Love, love this series
Fangs and FennelBook 2 of the Venom TrilogyShannon Mayer5 Bookgasums“Kitty puke on cookie sheets”Technical/Formatting: I read the book in the Mobi/Kindle version and found no issues with the formatting.Story Line: Alena’s story continues and she is up against a new ‘hero’, Theseus. She is also battling the prejudges of the humans and the court. Will she prevail? Will Zeus or any other gods help her or hinder her?“Kitty puke on cookie sheets” I just loved this line and find Alena’s use of cuss words similar to mine.Character Development: Zelda and all of the other characters are well developed and feel as if they are real. You can really come to love or hate the characters which to me is a true sign of how well written the characters are.Grammar and Other Nit Picking: I don’t think I found any spelling error. The book and the series are one of my all time favorites.https://www.amazon.com/Fangs-Fennel-Venom-Trilogy-Book-ebook/dp/B01HXWQOQQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1484151747&sr=1-1&keywords=fangs+and+fennel

Sort of okey dokey
I was really hoping the childish 'Super Duper' thing would have been left in book 1. No such luck. I'd buy the MC as a particularly sheltered teenager, with her constant angst about taking care of things herself...that usually follows a situation where she failed to take care of something. Asking me to believe she's a married 20(?)-something entrepreneur is a stretch. While braving the occasional curse word (and seeming inexplicably fond of t--t waffle), she otherwise has become even more ridiculous with her insults and exclamations than in the first book. And yet somehow, this completely uninteresting person who keeps insisting she is married - despite the fact she's considered legally dead/widowed (confusingly) - is irresistible to a number of experienced, worldly men.I found the writing/editing in this book much more uneven than in the last. There were details that popped up in conversation when they hadn't been shared and then others treated as revelations when it was at least the second time the same parties discussed them. And nobody is able to keep their vehicles straight. If you liked Venom & Vanilla, you'll probably enjoy this, too. If you found it grating, well...

Better than the first
I've enjoyed a few of this author's earlier works (Rylee Adamson) so one of the things I can immediately say is that I truly enjoyed how different Alena was from Rylee. She was raised by a religious community, and taught - well, really, everything that women today are fighting so hard to make a 'norm'. As the second installment to the Venom trilogy, we see that she still struggles with the fact that she's now a monster and no longer a human, or existing, for that matter. Because according to the law, she died in that joke of a hospital, and doesn't have any rights to her inheritance or her bakery, the one thing in the world she practically cares about. This book took more to Super Duper *snorts* Rights and Alena learning to step up and stand up for it, whether or not she really means to do it for the supernaturals in general. I liked this better than the first one because she's got a better hold on her life, even if there's more chaos. Still couldn't take her seriously whenever she brought up the fact that she was still technically married, but that's a personal thing since I have my own views on marriage, and if anything, it forced me to see from her perspective, which was an experience in itself. Otherwise, I liked how much she struggled with herself. A lot of character growth there, with the constant battle of Old Her and New Boss Baddie. A few twists were in here that totally blew me away, and oh my God, but I think I saw something from the author's other series. And it really makes me want to continue them and demand the third book for this series. Like... take my money.

Lovely read
Once again I can but only recommend this book. It follows nicely from the previous. Give a more broader picture of the main character . Alena shakes up both sides of the wall. This won't have you sitting on the edge of your sets but it does make you smile. Book 3 here I come.
