Rubbermaid Automotive Sun Visor Car Accessory: CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc Storage Organizer with Elastic Grid

I bought this after reading mostly bad reviews, thinking it couldn't be that bad, it's Rubbermaid. I can report the bad reviews are correct. It's hard to open, it's extremely hard to close, the two parts are not held securely together and it doesn't fit well on the visor. I can tell you from harrowing experience it takes seconds (several seconds to close) and two hands to open and close so don't try to open or close while driving - it's very distracting. Despite how it looks the two parts don't fit together well. I'm always fiddling with the latch and even the edges, which don't seem to mate well. I've had it a week and twice the two parts separated while trying to open or close with one hand, the bottom falling to the floor in front of my seat. I was able to snap them together. My visor has a mirror under a lid on the back side which prevents the clips from holding securely. I'm sorry I bought it. It don't like it, but I continue to use it because I can't find anything better, thus two stars instead of one. I'm sure I'll replace it; hopefully sooner rather than later.

This is the second one I own now. We use one for my CDs and the other for my daughter's. I'm actually thinking of getting a third and putting it on the OTHER side of my visor (I don't use the mirror anyways) to put her story CDs on. I can hang a lot of things or store a lot of things on the elastic woven section, though I normally don't (you could definitely put sunglasses and pens in there).UPDATE:I just ordered two more of these. I use my CD player more than anything in my car and have a little one, so it's constantly a juggle of CDs. I have two on each one of my visors (one on each side of the visor) and this makes things so great! I can organize MY CDs and my little ones. It's made it so that it's super quick for me to see and grab what I need. I use the woven elastic section to put reminder cards in and I use the space between the visor and the organizer to store bigger coupons, notes, and a notepad. These are seriously great! I've had my original one for quick some time and it's not worn down at all, the biggest con is that if you stack up multiple CDs in one of the sections it stretches it. It's not a huge deal (I've done it to the last section on my original one), but definitely something to think of when you're using these! Would definitely recommend again! This is the best brand I've ever had for CD visor holder.

I bought the Rubbermaid Mobile Organizer to hold a pair of over-sized sun glasses.The case mounted easily on the sunvisor in my Jeep Commander.The lid latches securely, and doesn't open up on its own.In the bottom of the organizer there is a bit of fabric mounted, which keeps rattles down.Fit and finish are fine.It solved a vexatious problem for me - I like the sunglasses a lot but they are of the 'wrap around' style and the oversized case that they came in simply wouldn't store easily anywhere in the Jeep except for the glovebox (too far to reach from the driver's seat) or the center console (which is filled with other gear; the eyeglass case took up too much room).For vehicles with smaller visors than those in my Jeep the case might seem a bit large but in my case it doesn't block my vision in any way and is "readily to hand" when I want to access the sunglasses.HTHRegards,Jim

I received a Rubbermaid brand sunglass case. I have three of these total. I like them better than other types, but be careful not to over extend the hinges because the two halves of the clamshell will easily come apart. To prevent the two halves of the clam shell from separating, I drilled holes and inserted thin black (zip) cable ties to limit how far it opens. As other reviewers have noted, the latch is fiddly. The latch broke on one, as noted by another reviewer; I replaced it with a loop of thin (bungee) shock cord. The one I received from Amazon seems to be holding up better than the two I bought at Pep Boys. Perhaps the design was improved.

I want to say that this is everything that I asked for because I was looking for something to hold my sunglasses on the visor. I read the reviews of some of the other products that you can choose from by Rubbermaid. For everyone that purchased those products and it too hard to open, too hard to close or wouldn't stay close, this is the product to buy. It has a velcro closure and sunglasses of all sizes fit perfectly in it. You don't have to struggle closing it because of the velcro attachment. And as a bonus, you have the basket weaved stretchy rows that you can attach other things like pens, etc. I figured I couldn't lose if the velcro sunglass storage part was too little or too tight, I could attach my sunglasses to one of the stretchy basket weaved rows, so like I said either way I couldn't lose. This PRODUCT IS WORTH BUYING.

I tried to make this item work in our 2016 Acura visor and it was just a bit small. If you are constantly using your mirror on the visor it is a bit tight and might get a bit in the way ( the straps that wrap around the visor). The visor it self was a bit dusty when it arrived, I am not sure if the color of the visor is naturally faded but my black visor looked a bit faded. The overall product is okay but not great. This visor also scratched my DVDs, the slips where they get placed in are too tight and scratches the DVDs. This was my biggest problem with the visor, now I only use this for placing my pen or random items because I no longer place DVDs here.

Got this for DVD storage for a road trip. Scratched brand new DVDs I bought. Right out of the case and into this holder for a road trip and the were scratched and skipping. They were Disney movies, so those movies cost over $20... all worthless now. If they weren't brand new I'd second guess what the culprit was. Don't waste your money, luckily we had a few other movies stashed in the car in their cases and some coloring books. Rubbermaid makes a good trash can (own one) but don't trust their product with expensive movies... or ones you like.

I needed somewhere to put my sunglasses in the car and this was easy to put on the visor. It’s nice because I put a pen in there as well. You could probably use it to hold a few small things in addition to a pen. The pouch for the sunglasses is roomy enough to accommodate larger sunglasses. Happy with my purchase.
