UPDATED REVIEW: This amazing mascara and the amazing customer service the company has given me has caused me to change my review from a 1 star to 5 star because it is just that good now that I have given it a fair chance. The company responded to my negative review (below) and offered to send me a new tube of mascara to try. They also immediately removed the picture of the brush (in my original negative review) that was misleading and are currently working on updating the other digital images of the mascara so that it depicts the brush accurately. This company definitely has integrity and is not trying to mislead anyone.I received my new tube of mascara (plus a free chapstick!) so quickly and have been testing it out since I received it. Now that I have used it for a few days I am surprised to say it has become my all time favorite mascara, and I will probably never use another mascara. It is slightly thicker than most mascaras I've used before, so I had to learn how to apply it best for the look I want. I thought the thickness to be a disadvantage at first but it has turned out to be one of the things that makes it so awesome because it only takes two coats to have amazing lashes and it doesn't smear! I learned it's best to let it dry for a minute or two in between coats and then it builds so well with the second coat and gives you incredibly thick and long lashes (see my pics), even rivaling fiber mascaras. And the brush, although I was originally very unhappy with it, actually does work perfectly fine and applies the mascara properly for its consistency.This mascara is seriously awesome and gives you incredible lashes! You have nothing to lose by trying it because the company has such awesome customer service that they will make sure you are satisfied one way or another.Pros:Two coats (letting it dry briefly in between) gives you lashes pretty much as thick and long as fiber lash mascara does.Slightly thicker formula is less messy to apply and easier to build.Doesn't clump.Doesn't smear.Lasts all day and lashes stay looking great the whole time.Washes off extremely easily with cleanser and warm water.Doesn't irritate eyes.Large tube will last a while and you don't need to use much to get amazing lashes.Formula feels very gentle on the lashes.Safe, natural ingredients.Made in USA (very difficult to find these days!)Cons:It can occasionally flake a very tiny bit (and I mean very tiny), but it is so minor and doesn't happen every time.If you accidentally get it directly in your eye it stings for a minute, but other than that it doesn't irritate my eyes at all to wear it.OLD REVIEW: I'm so disappointed at their very misleading pictures!!! The only reason I bought this mascara is because of the nice wispy bristles on brush they have pictured. As you can see in my pictures the comparison of the one they advertise with the one you actually get are very different. The mascara itself is really thick and kind of dry, and it doesn't apply easily with the dense, stiff brush it comes with. I hate when sellers deliberately mislead buyers with their fake pictures!

I am somewhere between 'It's Okay' and 'I like it' with this mascara. The substance itself is fine--doesn't irritate my eyes and the color is a nice black. There are other problems I had that I have taken time to assess before writing my review. First off, you have to change your mascara technique to fit this mascara. I start by leaning my head far back and looking down my nose to do my top lashes. It requires a lot of stroking, half blinks, and rolling of the brush at the same time to get a good coating of all the lashes. This is because the brush end itself is soft like a pipe-cleaner. The softness doesn't do much to get between my lashes. The formula dries fast, and although the tube says to 'do your second layer after drying' I do not recommend that because it feels odd and doesn't look that great. After you've done your first layer, immediately put on your second layer to keep blobbing/flaking to a minimum. And you do have to work a bit fast because it does dry VERY fast. For bottom lashes I use a piece of paper to put under the lashes to protect my skin and gently brush down parallel and then perpendicular to the eye. The paper is to protect you from the mascara because if it touches your skin it's Game Over. I have tried methods of wiping at mascara mistakes wet or dry, but no matter what it stains or smears. That is why I developed this technique to suit this mascara--hopefully it helps someone else out, too. No one likes to have to re-touch up their makeup.Pros: Formula, less irritation, nice color, decent coverage (with some work)Cons: Tube is skinny and makes it hard to wipe off the stick when it's too gloppy, mistakes are practically permanent (lol), dries a bit too fast, brush is too soft, somewhat flaky and can create 'dusting' (at the end of a long day you have a smokey eye even if you did not put one on).Concept is good. I am on the line on staying with this product and trying a different organic mascara.

2nd update: Even newer review: After using this mascara for a week it did start having clumps. They are easy to work through, so it isn't a deal killer for me, but I can't keep the 5 star review, as I leave that for exceptional products. The Peter Thomas Roth mascara lasts a few weeks before having clumps, this one lasted a week and I am now into the second/third week with even more clumps.1st update: New updated review:So I have changed my original 1 star review to 5. Why? It turns out that the first order I received must have been broken. Their wonderful customer service, upon seeing my original review of what happened, figured it out and sent me a new one without my having to ask. And guess what? The new one does live up to the hype of all the five star reviews on here. I just tried it out and I am very impressed. It went on nice with no clumps, my lashes feel soft, and have nice definition and length. I have been using Peter Thomas Roth LASHES TO DIE FOR THE MASCARA for quite some time and have been very happy with it, but their prices have gone way up so I was hoping to find a substitute that equally compares. This Premium Mascara is exactly what I was looking for. I am very grateful they took the time to send me another one, and knew what went wrong with the one I received. I was clueless and feel bad now for the one star review. I will buy this mascara again.Original review:When I opened it up and took out the wand, the mascara was just a giant glob of goo on the wand. I couldn't see a single bit of the brush part. Mascara shouldn't be like that. I have never in my life had mascara come out like that. So I am returning it. I am so disappointed, as the reviews made it sound so good.
