I applied the decals to a plastic trash bin just yesterday, so we'll have to see about the longevity of the adhesive. My initial impression is that I won't have any problems, but if I do, I'll update my review. I applied the decals to the interior walls of the trash bin as well as the outside, so one can see the decals when looking down on the bin from above. The white background of the decals is very visible against my dark gray bin.The decals feel like they are made of a vinyl material, not just plain paper. It feels as if they will withstand mild cleaning with disinfectant wipes or mild soap. The backing was easy to peel off, once I got an edge started. Based on how thick the decal and backing was out of the package, I was expecting a crease or split in the backing to make peeling easier, but the was none. But, as I said, once you get the peel started, the backing comes off easily. Also, when applying the decal, the decal is stiff enough that it didn't fold over on itself or create a bunch of bubbles that you have to press out from under it. So applying it to the trash bin surface was very easy, no bubbles or wrinkles.

Definitely follow the instructions: clean the surface before attaching! I did not and most started pealing in a few hours. I affixed these to a large plastic garbage container -- the surface it rough, so that may be a factor as well. They are nice and large and inexpensive enough to purchase again and try once more - which I'll probably do once they fall off completely. I really like the white-background, as opposed to the clear - makes it really stand out for the guys, so they can see the difference between a recycle garbage bin and the other at a glance without the need to open it up.UPDATE: I have reduced the rating from 4 to 3 stars -- I read another reviewer's comment about the lack of scoring on the back -- so totally true! I forgot about that: it was difficult to remove the backing. But I still will try again, since these are ideal - but since they did not remain on the plastic garbage container that I put them on, I will re-purchase, and clean the area first. I will update if they do still do not hold -- then it is probably because the surface of the garbage bin is not smooth. The one that was affixed to the smooth part (not cleaned either) is still holding very well.UPDATE2: I have reduced it to 2 stars. Cleaning the surface of the container did not help - they do not stick to textured surfaces. I discussed this with the seller; she said others had mentioned this and she would change the ad to reflect -- as of today (7/1/17) there is no indication that these do not adhere to textured surfaces in their ad -- and although I tried with 2 orders, and neither adhered, the seller never offered a refund for even one of the packages. She did offer a free package but admitted I probably wouldn't want it since they do not stick to my garbage bin.

Here's why this 5-pack of Recycling stickers is better than the rest:1. You get FIVE! I was able to put one recycling sticker on my paper and newspaper bin, my glass and aluminum bin, my cardboard trash can, and on my plastic rubbermaid container. I used the last one I had to place on the bin that goes to the curb.2. Others recycle stickers that sell on Amazon have a CLEAR background. These stickers have a WHITE BACKGROUND which means the symbol / logo will show up even if your bin is white, black, blue, etc. HUGE PLUS.3. Parties. Before my guests were always using the wrong bin but now with these labels / decals my trash and recycled materials do not get mixed up.Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. That's my motto!!!

There are stickers marked with each type of recyclable...ie PAPER, ALUMINUM, etc. This does not show in the pictures. I only needed two, one for the top, and another for the front of my home recycle can, which holds all recyclables. Easy fix... I simply cut off the words!! Worked well, and now everyone knows which can is which. They are easily visible on my black can. Thanks!!

Shipped and arrived on time. Stickers were as advertised (accurate size and photo). The quality of the sticker itself seems good and strong -- a bit thicker than I had expected, which is nice! About the only reason I can't give them 5 stars is that the backer was not pre-sliced to allow for finding an edge. Often sticker products will have a backer that has a slice in it so you can bend the sticker and get the backer started more easily. I did use a box cutter with a sharp blade to lightly score the backer but was afraid of cutting through to the actual sticker. Ultimately it helped me get the backer off and the stickers went on my recycling bin just fine. The adhesive seemed quite strong and I'm not worried about them peeling off.

These are great stickers for trash cans and recycling containers that are perfect size but surprisingly hard to find. I've been looking for stickers like these for a long time, in places like Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc. and once I saw them on Amazon, I ordered and couldn't be happier. Good quality, strong adhesive, and fast delivery of my order. More importantly, now cans are labeled so whenever there's a party or battering, people know where the recycling goes.

Got these to place on a garbage toter for our recycling (picking is every 2 weeks, and I buy a lot from Amazon, so our little blue box is overflowing). Serves the purpose. Large enough for our garbage collectors to see.

Had it four a few months now and I clean my trashcans almost daily. The sticker remains the same color and has not lifted.
