My curls sprung right back up!
I have been using a lot of rebuilding/rebonding/protein treatments this year after severe heat damage and the ruin of most of my curl pattern. This was highly recommended and the first Curlsmith product I ever used. It is rather pricey, as they all are, but the ease of use and effectiveness makes it worthwhile. It was quite a bit more liquidy than I thought it would be, and I have a lot of hair, so I used quite a lot, but I would estimate I still have several uses out of this bottle. The scent is mild, inoffensive, and dissipates quickly. I could feel the improvement in not only the health of my hair but the curl pattern almost immediately. Depending on how this compares to other products, I may repurchase, however I am now very interested in other Curlsmith styling and treatment products.

In depth review- Amazing product for us textured haired babes!
If you don’t want to read the entire thing. Just know it’s worth the buy and does amazing things to curly/wavy damaged hair. Backstory on my hair: I had a bad bleach job done to my hair about a year ago. It cost me 5.5 inches of my hair. I slowly cut the hair off over the past year. I still have some random spots in the ends that are still damaged but mostly my hairs back to normal from that. BUT those spots that are damaged are noticeable due to my textured hair because they fall flat and straight. I’m a 2c/3a texture type. In the past year I have tried all the leave in conditioners, moisturizing hair masks, olaplex bond repairs, anything you can think of. So in rolls this curlsmith product. I try it with not much hope it’ll mend these few spots in my hair but I’m always down to try something new. First use I put it all over my hair and leave on for 1 hour. (Directions say 15 minutes minimum or up to 1 hour.) wash shampoo/condition/style like normal. I look in the mirror shocked. My curls have come to life. The shine, the definition, the bounce of my curls were unmatched. I couldn’t believe it! The second time trying it I only put it on my ends about 3.5 inches of it and did it for only 15 minutes. Still the same result! My curls came back to life and were extremely moisturized. I would say doing the hour all over my head was amazing but if you are rushing and only have the chance to do 15 minutes it’s still doing the job. It’s NOT a “dupe” of anything. This is the real deal on its own.

Saved my hair after thinning Shears!
My curls were frizzy and not clumping together after my barber used thinning sheers. I was debating on buzzing my hair to start over again but I gave this a chance and I’m glad I did. I’ve only tried it once and it made my curls look like actual curls again.

Careful
I like this product, it smells good, and does well for my hair, but be careful. You are only supposed to leave this on your hair for 30 minutes MAX, I am not sure why that is, but that's what it says... This is inconvenient for me, as I typically like to sleep in a hair mask so it is a hassle to set a timer and make sure I rinse it out. Other than that, great product.

Expensive, but it made my hair incredibly soft.
I didn't have high hopes for this product because it seems like every social media influencer with wavy/curly hair is getting paid to make advertising for them instead of posting honest reviews, and the price is pretty high. I've used other products that were much cheaper per oz, that claimed to repair damaged hair, but didn't do anything more than regular conditioners. I have 3" past shoulder length, mostly wavy (2a-3c), fine, high porosity hair. My mom's hair is straight, and I don't have any sisters, so I never really learned how to care for wavy/curly hair. I just bought whatever cheap shampoo I liked the smell of, conditioned with whatever else was cheap, and had a bad habit of putting my hair up in a bun while it was still wet. I never used ANY products beyond the rare spritz of a leave in conditioner if my hair was particularly static-y, so learning how to take care of my hair without spending money I don't have has been quite the journey, and I still have more to learn. I currently use Johnson's kids shiny and soft shampoo, Alberto VO5 strawberries and cream conditioner (both of which have a small amount of protein), and I've been trying different hair masks roughly every 2 weeks (Shea Moisture Curl and Shine Hair Mask, and Mielle Babassu and Mint Deep Conditioner). I haven't found any styling products that I'm particularly fond of (mostly because of time and cost), so after washing I usually just scrunch the water out of my hair with a small towel from The Perfect Haircare, then plop in a towel/turban from the same company, and after 25 or so minutes I take it down and let it air dry. The times I've used mouse, curl cream, gel, etc. my waves/curls lack definition, and my clumps are stringy. I'm also still having issues with frizz all around my hairline in front and back, regardless of what I do, so I thought I would try a product with more protein to see if it would help. Twelve bucks is a lot for 2oz, but I figured if it didn't help I'd rather be out just 12 and not the price of a full bottle. I divided my hair into four sections, and applied the bond curl rehab salve to each section, brushing through with a tangle teezer brush, and made sure my hair was entirely saturated. Hard to say how much off the container I used because it's opaque, but I think roughly half for my whole head. After I applied to each section, I twisted that section into a bun and secured it with a scrunchy. I then left it on the rest of the day, and overnight. The next day I washed it out with my kids shampoo, and conditioned like normal. I did use some leave in conditioner (Shea Moisture Hydrate + Repair Multi-Action Leave-In) because protein treatments can leave your hair feeling dry. When my hair dried, it had the most wonderful, silky feel to it! My frizz was mostly gone, and I couldn't stop running my hands through my hair. I can't speak to how much it affected my waves/curls because I didn't style my hair at all; I ended up with loose gentle waves throughout. My hair usually tangles in the back pretty badly by the end of the day, but for the two days after I used this product, it's been silky smooth. I can run my hands through my hair at night, and I might encounter one loose knot. Today is wash day again, so I'll be able to gauge how often I need to use it, and what it does for my curls with styling products. Even if it does nothing for the curl itself, I'll probably keep using it sparingly just for the slip it provides my hair when dry.

So so
I was looking forward to receiving this product but I don’t think it performed like it promised. I could be using it incorrectly. Directions on how to use could include more information.

Excellent protein treatment
Excellent hair moisturizer. My curls come back to life after use. I have fine curly hair so I use it once every two weeks. I love the results. A little goes a long way. I love that it has all natural ingredients that are gentle on the scalp and skin.
