I bought this chess set for my boys to practice chess. I searched and really liked the magnetic option. The chess set also comes with checkers. The set itself is well made and each piece is beautifully carved from wood. We have taken it on trips and the boys love playing where ever we go. The price was competitive but the main reason I am writing this post is that they dropped a chess piece and our dog decided to use it as a chew toy. I was bummed that we were missing a piece when I realized there was a lifetime warranty. I messaged asking for a replacement piece and within a week they sent me an entire new set of chess pieces. I have never had this type of amazing costumer service. So if you are looking for a beautiful chess set do yourself a favor and buy this one. You will not be disappointed!

Incredible set for the price! Extremely durable and I absolutely love that the board is magnetic so that pieces aren’t moving accidentally when we are playing. This set looks like an expensive set. It’s a bit heavy but that’s fine for us. The only tiny critique I have is that the foam on the inside doesn’t allow for the pieces to “pop” into them (which is a preference probably) but all pieces stay put. Super happy with this purchase!

This is a great value for the price. Chess pieces feel good as far as weight an size. The board is is not perfect but for the price it is an awesome set. The checkers are great for the kids so this makes a nice family game set that stores easily. Is this a professional set? No, but size and feel is close and great bang for the buck. I have no regrets with this purchase and have had compliments from friends regarding the quality, fit and finish. The magnetic bases are covered in felt giving weight to the bottom of the wood chess pieces (nice). The felt helps protect the boards beautiful wood finish, (very nice). The quality of the set and rich looks give it a "looks like it cost more than it does" attitude. Shipping time was quick and the package arrived without damage. Great shopping experience, thank you.

My daughter loves chess and she is into it ao I got her this set and I couldn’t be happier about the purchase. The magnetic board keeps things in place as kids can be clumsy and knock things over. The storage case is wonderful except for the part that you need to take out all the pieces even the ones you are not going to use, otherwise the board doesn’t sit flat when in use. It could of been designed better ( deeper) that way it would of wirked better. Good quality overall.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to improve their enjoyment of either game. It feels like it will provide years of entertainment and will make game play more enjoyable than using a basic cheap plastic set.This set is very well crafted and feels rather refined, especially when compared to having played on cheap plastic sets for quite a while. The felt covered magnetic bottoms of the pieces allow for smooth movement and work well to keep pieces from shifting around when you play on a surface that may move or if you need to relocate the game to a different area for some reason during play. Delivery was quick, although it was shipped in an unpadded plastic bag. These are 'very' hit/miss when it comes to damaging the product as each delivery experience is different, so I feel I got lucky on this one - no damage. But I would recommend to the seller / shipper that they use a padded plastic bag at least.Unfortunately, I cannot give this product a 5-star rating. The metal clasps protrude slightly on the bottom on the sides of the board when setup for play. Not an issue if you plan to use it on carpet or any surface you don't care about, but if you put it on a nice tabletop, use caution as you risk damaging or scratching that table due to the metal nubs on one side and the corners of the clasps that stick out slightly beyond the base of the wooden box - about 1/8 of an inch. This is the main reason for docking it a star.Additionally, I feel it should be mentioned that if you want to play checkers you will need to remove the chess pieces from the foam cutouts because the board will not lie flat with them still in the holders. Not a huge deal, but it is something I was not aware of. This means having to store the chess pieces to the side or in the cardboard product box vs the game itself. Sort of depreciates the nice foam holders that keep the pieces neatly organized and separated so they don't get damaged by clinking around in the box. I had the impression you could leave pieces in the foam cutouts.

This is a nice set with attractive chess and checker pieces in a solid travel case. Both the chess and checker pieces are magnetic, and both are retained in the internal foam holder. The wooden board folds and latches to retain the pieces for travel.

High quality, real wood, magnetized. Stores nicely, comes with a second queen for pawn promotion. Extremely good value. My children are loving playing with this set.
