Perfect tool watch at a entry level price point. Multiple functions and time keeping capabilities. Fits small to medium sized wrist with a stiff and durable watch strap. Extremely tough watch. 5/5 if you are considering a Casio G-Shock, I've done the research. This solar powered gshock square will put a smile on your face without breaking the bank. This watch is respect amongst all watch collectors.

This is a very classic style of G-Shock watch. From what I have been told the "U" in the model number stands for update. This watch should be among the newest versions. When I buy Casio G-Shock watches my preference is to buy the Japanese versions. I am under the impression they are better built. The dealer packed this watch properly. It arrived in perfect condition. In the past I've ordered watches from this dealer. Like all the G-Shock lines of watches this watch is of very strong build. This is a watch that with general type of rough use you would not have to worry about damaging it. As like all decent quartz watches it should be very accurate. Since this watch uses radio signal time sync, then as long as it can receive the signal the accuracy should very tight. If the watch is free running without radio signal time sync it should keep better than 10 seconds per month. The display is easy to read, and the logic of the functions are simple to use. The only thing I found difficult are the buttons (pushers) are a bit on the small size, making the need for a bit of extra effort to push them. This is not a serious issue. When the buttons are a bit harder to push this is better for not having them pushed by accident. This watch is the Japanese version. The display of the watch is in English. For the English instructions you would have to download them from the Casio web site. If you know how to set up and use most any other G-Shock solar and radio time sync type of watch then technically you should not need the instructions. As for myself I normally use watches for time and date only. I rarely use the extra features in these watches as like the timers, and the alarms. I use my smart phone for those types of things. Personally, I like this watch. It looks to be well made, and for myself it's comfortable to wear. If you are looking for a Casio classic style watch I would think this is a good choice. -- Update: For those who are interested in the accuracy of this watch, the one I have when running without being able to receive the time signal should be keeping in the range of about 3 seconds per month. I had the watch verified for me. I have this watch for about a week now, and I cannot see much of a drift when comparing it to the US government live time standard web site. Most quality quartz watches of today without a radio time receiver should be able to keep time to within about 5 seconds per month with normal type use. This is excellent accuracy for the price. This level of accuracy is beyond what most normal people would need for their daily lives, unless doing some type of specialized job or task.

This watch is low profile and wears REALLY well. It has a great easy-to-read screen and the band feels really good to me. All of the buttons are easy to operate aside from the main Settings button (which is only slightly more difficult to press with bare fingers - and that is a good thing). It has everything you'd expect from a good G-Shock: multiple alarms, hourly chime, chrono, stopwatch, day of week/month/day display, I lost count on how many time zones, daylight savings time, decent backlight, metal band clasp and probably many things that I'm forgetting right now. This one has Multi-Band 6 (it sets itself every night from an atomic clock via radio signals across the USA and a few other countries) and the battery is charged via solar power. I love it and I'd recommend it to anyone who can appreciate the looks of an iconic G-Shock.
