Like when I was a kid but much cooler!
My 6yo son waited wanted to try a yo-yo but my more 'professional' ones are a little hard for him. Seeing that you can turn the clutch off and on makes these perfect for learning the basics then turning the clutch off for more advanced things. Came with 4 strings total and was packaged very nicely!

Versatile and good quality Yo-Yo
Bought for my 13 y/o who likes to yo-yo. He likes this yo-yo a lot. He has several and this one he picks up a majority of the time when he practices. He likes the switch feature between auto and standard as it allows him to do a larger spectrum of tricks and yo-yo play. We bought the yellow one and the color is bright and fun as the yo-yo spins around.

Because Sometimes, You Just Want to Throw
I have a pair of "classic" Duncan Imperial yo-yos that were reissued some years back: all-wool, old-school, and all that. Fun, but sometimes a tad more challenging than I'd be into at a given moment. I'm into doing a few classic tricks, but nothing more - I'm well past the show off stage here, and more into the therapeutic angle of yo-yoing. And that sometimes means wanting to take it easy, which brings me to this Yomega: you might call this the equivalent to driving a sports car with a dual-clutch transmission versus my Duncan's five-on-the-floor. You can switch between having it instantly return on the throw and letting it spin when you're feeling like getting fancy. My only quibble is with the weight of the thing: the added mechanics can sometimes make the return a little heavy handed, but a slight change in technique can handle that. Overall, it's a nice alternate to my Duncan's when the mood suits. Recommended.

it's a little heavy
of the 7 yoyos i currently own, this is my second yomega.i have the yomega brain on display for nostalgic purposes, the XP is my everyday yoyo.to preface: i dont yoyo for tricks, i was born in the 90'sa yoyo is a 90's kid's "fidget spinner".a yomega is a cultural staple, next to pokemon cards, gameboys, and surge soda.this yoyo is not for tricks, its heavy.buying this yoyo is like buying a 1970's muscle car, knowing full well, you're not buying it for the mpg- but for the raw power attached to nostalgia.its an exquisite piece of technology.its really affordable for what it is.get one! remember, you can return things on amazon.i promise you wont though.

Great yo-yos, great service!
Bought the Yomega Brain XP for myself to help my daughter learn to use her Yomega Brain and Yomega Spectrum, just as good as they were when I was a teenager and had a Yomega Brain and a Yomega Fireball.Excellent communication from Yomega, they sent me a pdf via e-mail and replied promptly to every e-mail I sent them in return, they really made me feel like a valued customer as opposed to a source of revenue on legs... very pleased, very impressed and definitely keen to do business with them again in the very near future!

My nephew LOVED it!
Said a lot that I purchased this for a six-year-old. And it's still in perfect condition several months later... This is exactly what he wanted and I would definitely recommend!

Good for beginner but weight is not even.
2020 so I am trying out lots of old hobbies to spend some time and feel productive. I used to be advanced back when I was a kid. Honestly I bought it not knowing if I would want a responsive or unresponsive. In retrospect I should have cross referenced the moves I wanted to pull off.The good:this yoyo does both and looks coolEasy to respin the string because of the mechanismThe bad:you are probably going to wack a few things which makes the durability unknown. There is no bearing. The axel is mounted because of the switch mechanism. The ugly:The sides are unevenly weighted because of the switch mechanism.I would recomend this anyone who is a beginner thinking they want to a dabble with an unresponsive yoyo. Somone younger would really make it work if it is a hobbie they enjoy. However if you are looking to pull off more advanced moves the spin time may disappoint you.I gave it three stars because it works but it won't be a stepping stone for most people. If you or the person you are buying it for are very timid in the way to progress and explore new things than it would be a 5 star product. If you know what you want but can be a bit indecisive don't make my mistake and fall for the intermediate label.
