SB500 Soundbar for TV, Home Speaker Bar Works with 50" to 90" TVs, Soundbar with Subwoofer Built-in, 6 Modes AccuVoice Dialogue Boost, Multi-Zone Audio and Hearing Technology

We've had an SB500 for over 5 years in our den and it has worked flawlessly. We liked it so much that my family went in together to get my Dad one for his TV. When we bought a new TV for our large, open concept living room, we knew we'd need a soundbar for it too and I looked briefly at what other companies had to offer but ultimately knew we'd probably get another Zvox. I looked at the SB500's bigger brother but, other than a larger profile, it didn't look like it offered anything additional electronics and driver-side so we bought another SB500. It looks and sounds great beneath our new 75" LG QNED85. I believe I've already reviewed our first SB500 but I'll say it again, the sound quality and output is soo much better and cleaner than anything other sound bars we've tried from Sony, Yamaha and JVC. The Yamaha came close, but the deep, tight bass of the Zvox is superior. It's pretty incredible that it sounds this good without a separate subwoofer. The aluminum build quality is extremely good. Although the remote is simple, we've had no issues pairing the bar with any of the TV's remotes. The Zvox remote stays mostly in the drawer unless we need to turn down the bass when watching TV in the evening while someone is trying to sleep. Make sure you give the sound bar's speakers a few hours to "break-in". Our new one sounded kind of flat for the first few hours even with the bass and treble cranked to max but really woke up just in time to watch the latest Ghostbuster's movie. We've since dialed those settings back to the default, neutral setting and it sounds perfect. The clear voice technology is great for dialog heavy shows. This is just a great all around sound bar that should be way more popular than it is.

As seniors in our seventies, our hearing is steadily degrading. We just replaced our second sound bar which had a dialogue enhancement feature that worked well for several years. Recently, we found ourselves missing half of the dialogue in movies and TV shows where the music/background noise drowns out the words. We purchased this speaker due to the good reviews, it’s 6 levels of dialogue enhancement and it should work well with large TV’s in a large room. This speaker works EXCELLENT for us. We are only using the dialogue enhancing mode at level one and hopefully have five more levels to go as we age. There is still a lot of base and sound with movies and TV shows, but somehow, it does bring out the dialogue as advertised. We no longer ask each other “What did they say”.

The sound is amazing. This is our second exact soundbar from Zvox. We put the older one in the bedroom where we have literally gone through three or four different cheap soundbars. My wife is so happy to be able to hear dialouge that was never heard before that makes this purchace priceless. The build quality is stellar and is heavier than you would think. It isn't cheap flimsy plastic. You will be very happy with it!

I purchased this to replace my very old surround sound system that doesn't have the rear speakers. I thought for this price I should get mid range quality. What a disappointment!! The sound was like listening to an old transistor radio. I sent it back!

This sound bar will not sound like what you are used to. But that's the idea. It really does bring forward the human voice, and after adjustments and listening for a short while, your hearing gets used to it and it is a game changer for those of us with limited hearing. Yes, the processing introduces a bit if harshness, but it's a small price to pay. Like I said, your ears will get accustomed to this different audio.

Ordered this sound bar to replace an older one that was starting to act up and was from a different manufacturer. I was looking for an affordable sound bar that would provide excellent dialogue sound and this certainly does the trick! It was easy to install and also very easy to setup so my cable remote now controls the on/off/mute for the sound bar. Of course to adjust the Accuvoice and Surround settings on the sound bar I still must use the Zvox remote but once you have these set there really is no need to change them (at least not often). For the money this sound bar provides excellent sound and is also a beautiful addition to my tv space.

I have a sound bar system but wanted to improve the verbal clarity on movies and TV shows. With this sound bar I was able to adjust the sound without using the accuvoice feature (which turns off the surround sound) by lowering the base output and adjusting the treble. Then I connected a subwoofer to get back the base and all is great now. I did notice that the remote has changed. It no longer has dedicated base/treble buttons. You need to pull up a menu using the new "Other" button to adjust. You can also use this button to adjust the PS settings (for power management and speaker direction adjustments, etc.). This was not noted in the owners manual. Overall very happy with this sound bar. 5-28-23 update. So after listening to several movies and TV shows I found an issue where during commercials at low volume I was getting some type of low level feedback. Almost like a base sound even though I had the base set at -6 for verbal clarity improvement. My other LG sounder does not have this issue. I tried to change settings but no luck and it became annoying so I had to return the unit.
