These are made of sturdy plastic material. I purchased these as back up for my oster fast feed clippers but, as you can see from the images, they will not fit. They are too small. I'm sure they'll fit a wahl clipper (seniors, magic clippers)

I prefer these to others I've purchased. They snap onto my Wahl clippers very snugly - no worries with them falling off during a haircut.

We've owned a Conair trimmer set, model HCT242WR, for several years. It's the large red one - I think maybe Conair Man was the name of it possibly(?) but don't exactly know for sure. Anyhow, over time, our various cutting guards got either lost or broken and we'd just been suffering with the sharp/jagged ones we had left and trying not to get scratched every time we used them. I finally decided enough was enough, but the trimmer itself was still going strong, so I didn't want to junk it. I tried looking for Conair-specific replacement guards, but couldn't find much of anything. I also knew we didn't need a full set - I was originally just trying to find a #1 guard (especially since it seemed to be kind of a gamble whether or not the replacement ones would actually even fit my trimmer). So I was pretty excited to find this set with not just one, but three, of the shorter size guards (the length we predominately use) and that it was similarly priced to what it would cost to buy just one guard! I read through the reviews and the Q&A and based on information provided by the seller, determined that they would (hopefully) more than likely fit the size of our blade. They state that your blade width should be between 45-46mm. So I measured mine to double check, and it was! ...Placed the order and when they arrived, I put them on, and voila - they work like a charm. They fit nicely, and snap on and off with ease. They provide a great, precise cut and do everything they're supposed to do. I also love that they come in half sizes (our original set only had full increments i.e. #1, #2, etc.). The different coloration makes it very easy to grab the correct one you need. Contrary to some of the other reviews, I don't find they're flimsy or fragile in any way. They're probably not quite as 'robust' as the original ones that came with our trimmer, but if you use them correctly and keep them properly stored when they're not being used, then I don't see any issue with these lasting you many, many years. To clarify - our original broken guards I think got that way due to likely being stepped on or having something heavy dropped on them, etc. These will break too if put under that type of abuse. Otherwise, no, they shouldn't break or snap under normal conditions.
