Not teak, smells like urine when wet. Not good for a bath mat
Looks great, took forever to arrive, by the time it did, I had purchased an interim bath mat locally, which I used until recently. Upon arrival. I realized it wasn’t teak as advertised, but another type of wood. It has been in use for about three weeks and now has a horrible urine smell. Upon researching, have come to learn that bamboo, when either too young or ‘gone off’ has loads of ammonia which smells like urine. Do not buy this for your shower. It smells like pee.I would give it zero stars if I could.

Just received this (the solid version, not the folding one) so I can't speak to its longevity, but it looks great in my newly remodeled bathroom. The only reason I knocked off a star is because the "ribbed" texture on it is somewhat hard on the feet (which makes sense since you're basically standing on a block of wood - but the texture is there to trap water so it's functional), but it doesn't feel bad enough where I'd find it to be annoying. Honestly, I'd much prefer to use this over a cloth bath mat that just looks ratty after a while, so I'm sure I'll get used to it feeling a little hard on the feet.

Love the rich color and how it adds a touch to the guest bathroom!! Was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but if this is as good of quality as I think it is, have spent my money wisely!!

The slatted teak door mat
This was advertised for indoor or outdoor use. Outdoors the black rubber linings on the little feet leave a mark on the painted wooden deck and on the painted concrete front landing.

T'aint TEAK! DO NOT Believe what you read here... it IS NOT TEAK :(.... Rec'd a 'switchout'd funky brand' - not MAXTIR, but Hankey...... a bit of hanky-panky going on here if you ask me !!...... a total lie and fraudulent selling.I waited waaay too long for this mat to arrive; hoping it might be worth it IF it WAS ACTUALLY TEAK.I paid too much too.For a cheaper price & quicker ship, I coulda had something similar in 2 days.The box even says 'Bamboo Mat' (see pics).The wood grain is obviously bamboo (see pics).It is varnished beyond normality......the description says 'natural' and the pics DO show more of a 'raw wood' than this shine (see pics).It's got plain rubber 'non-scratchers' on the bottom side, not silicone (see pics).It is a bit darker than normal 'blonde-colored' bamboo though (only a bit darker here&there) (see pics).The box says it all! A completely DIFF BRAND and made of BAMBOO!! (see pics).So where was amazon regarding this?----well, apparently Jeff left his voice mail set to "outta the office right now, plz leave a msg" :(And NO, I ain't the first to complain about this --even though I actually tried to believe otherwise.......this sad practice of bait&switch seems to be allowed even to this day :(((I personally would never trust this over time if used regularly with H2O; the rubber will peel off eventually.It might even be a bit slipperly if used with water.I purchased it for my outdoor patio relaxation without having my bumpy flipflops on or hanging off my feet constantly.ABOVE ALL -----this is fraudulent selling!
