Took this bottle on a trip to Universal Studios in hopes of keeping hydrated. The bottle is especially nice because you can squish it down when not in use. Be sure to wash the bottle thoroughly at least once, maybe even twice before use to get some of the plasticy silicone taste off of the inside, but after cleaning, I didn't notice any unusual tastes when drinking water out of the bottle. I didn't try any other liquids so I can't say whether or not the bottle holds on to any other flavors, but it worked great for water. One very minor quibble, when the bottle is full, it doesn't like to stand up nicely and will usually just fall over. The included clip can help with that though. When full, the sides are very squishy and it's best to use two hands when drinking, otherwise the end will just flop over the end of your hand. This bottle got a lot of use at Universal though, and it kept going strong for me all week. Fun side note, as long as you're only getting ice and water, nearly all of the Coke Freestyle machines in Universal/IoA will let you do just that for free. Some of the coldest and most refreshing water in the parks.

I really liked the concept of this water bottle; it's so useful being able to collapse it as you drink throughout the day so that eventually the bottle takes up less space whether in your bag/purse or hanging with the included carabiner. The silicone material worked great at safely containing a drink without risk of leaks or condensation yet lightweight enough that it's not annoying to carry all day. In fact, I brought this on a multi-day trip to various theme parks, and it held up perfectly for my needs - conveniently compact, sturdy, easily washable, no noticeable bad taste. One minor thing I didn't like was how goofy it looks/feels to drink from since the flexible material means you sometimes need two hands to support it as you tip it back into your mouth. Additionally, my friends delighted in making fun at how this bottle looks like a "floppy dildo" particularly when placed on a table. Because the base of the bottle isn't very heavy or sturdy, it easily topples over by itself. Not a big deal to me though. Unfortunately, mere months after purchasing (and of course just past the return window) the bottle broke. I was wondering why it was suddenly leaking and not screwing tightly like before only to realize the plastic ring at the neck of the bottle is cracked. I didn't drop it and was careful to hand-wash only, but clearly the plastic is just poor quality (or perhaps I got a defected item). I have a Nalgene bottle that is also plastic, and somehow that one has lasted over a decade. Meanwhile, this Nefeeko bottle couldn't last 2 months. tldr; Neat concept if quality was higher. Plastic ring (where top screws on) broke within months. Not bad if you want a $14 carabiner.

Reviews of the smell and taste after initially opening the bottle are correct. It feels like it is coated in a powder and even after multiple washes the smell and weird taste still lingers. More washes and drying the bottle helps. Using the bottle helps as well. I also used the filtered water I was going to drink to vigorously rinse/wash the inside of the bottle. Full expanded and trying to rinse all compartments. When I did that, I saw a lot of milkyish residue come out. And the weird taste and smell dramatically reduced. Hoping with prolong usage, that will no longer be an issue. There is no structure to the bottle (as it needs to collapse) so be careful when filling the bottle with water. Takes time to get used to drinking from it with the lack of bottle structure. Easy to collapse/bend with water in it as well. When this occurs, water does spill out. Do not try to change the shape of the bottle with the cap on. Will mis-shapen bottle. Collapsing and expanding bottle should be done with bottle cap open. I really appreciate that it’s light weight and ability to collapse and take up less space when needed. Fits in the bottle holder in my bag and comes with the clip that can be placed on my keychain or pant loop. I’m excited to use it for hiking and traveling. 10/2/22 Update: The company reached out and this is what they said. Hope that helps. About Taste or Smell - Our water bottle is made of BPA FREE material, and passed certification of Food and Drug Administration in America. Please do not worry about its safety. If possible, please wash the bottle thoroughly with purified water. The water in the ordinary water pipe generally contains bleach substances or similar disinfection components, due to the particularity of the silica gel material, its molecular structure will adsorb some other substances in the water, which may appear as you see the white powder. The silicone material has very good stability, these white powders are not the material of the water bottle itself, you can rinse it directly, so please don't worry. Here are some advice to get rid of the silicone smell. Please add some dishwashing liquid or lemon slice in BOILED WATER, immerse the whole bottle and its cap in the water for 2 hours, then wash the bottle with clean water completely.

While we were going to use it for water on the beach, we ended up using for our pool side drinks and as it got low, we collapsed the bottle, closed the top and continued with activity, and refilled again. Convient, less bulk, bug resistant, and spill proof. However, the downside was it was flimsy and do not maintain the coolness of the beverage. Therefore, whatever was needed to be consumed, needed to be done soon, otherwise enjoy environment temperature. Unique item received many complements. We did fill it before boarding plane also, which was great because we had to stay on the plane extra time and still had beverage with us.

My family takes a cross country road trip every summer. Because I have two kids I am always looking for little hacks I can do to save us a little money and make the car ride easier. I thought it would be these bottles based on the positive reviews. I wanted easy to transport in a cup holder, and easy to transition from trail to a museum, so we could save money on bottled water. These didn't do it. First the smell was impossible to wash out. They have a very strong plastic smell, making the water smell and taste very strongly of plastic. My kids couldn't get past that. Then, there's the fact that when they're fulled extended and full of water they're basically one of those wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men. They're unstable, they're dorky as hell, and they won't stand up on their own. You know what we have found to work the best - a water bottle with a closable spout top that we just empty and refill over and over on our trip. Yes, I know, that's wasteful, but you know what else is wasteful? This horrible bottle that then was headed to the landfill, at least I can believe my plastic water bottle was recycled. This isn't it folks, my recommendation is to either go big and insulated and feel good knowing you also can use it in self defense or go cheap and recyclable.
