Prime-Line PL 14700 Wicket, 6-1/8 in. x 10-1/8 in., White Plastic (Single Pack)

A total life saver for putting window screens into annoying casement windows that open out like a door. FYI you will need to follow their instructions to install into your screen, and you will need some basic tools to do that.

If you need a lightweight solution to gaining access through a screen, this will work. I emphasize lightweight for two reasons. Its frame is easily bent when screening it, possibly causing it to not latch properly and the latch itself is pretty flimsy. However, when screened properly (it took me two attempts), the latch should keep it closed.

I was thrilled to find this widget on Amazon. It fits perfectly with the old widget on my screen which had broken. It took me less than 10 min to put the screen material piece from broken widget into this new one.

I only needed to replace the wicket 'door' due to the broken plastic 'hinges.'When I measured my 35 year old wicket, the dimensions were just very slightly different from the dimensions provided for this product. Sigh. I reasoned that I only needed the hinges to line up. Ordered just one to check. YESSS! The hinges are 5 5/8 inches apart, measured on center. The entire wicket matched up perfectly!!! Color difference doesn't bother me; aged plastic vs new plastic, after all. Win-win. Now I'll order more.

The quality is the best I have seen. It came with all the parts you need to install the screen. I definitely recommend this product.

These are hard to find these days, so I am really happy to still be able to get these. The quality is good- the plastic materials are relatively sturdy and works perfectly with my window screen. I hope they keep selling these ‘cos the plastic frame does age overtime and will need to be replaced every several years.

Most screens I've seen for your average vinyl windows have a frame that roughly matches the vinyl window frame's lip height. The way this wicket is made would require the screen frame to be an additional 1/2" taller to clear the window frame. One picture shows how the wicket would be mounted against the screen - the red area is where the window frame's lip would interfere. In the other picture of the wicket in the window, you can see how it can't get past the window frame, with the latch being the lowest obstruction and the screw holes still above the screen's frame. It would fit just fine if they just made the latch point so it was even with edge of the screen frame.

Works great and does what it should but I gave it 3 stars because it's not really white, it's more of an opaque clear white. Didn't match the color of our white screen frame it went into. It functions exactly as it should though, so for that, it wins back 3 stars.
