Repurposed but AWESOME - AMAZING PATIO POT MOVER
Trying to prepare for another freeze with our huge patio citrus in very heavy concrete pots. We had previously purchased the heavy duty plastic plant “skates” labeled to move 500-1000 lbs. these were never cheap and always broke after a season (or less) depending on how many times we had to move them longer distances out of the cold weather. INTRODUCE PENTAGON DRUM DOLLY - COMPLETE GAME CHANGER! These were easily assembled and with a slight modification, are now effortlessly holding and moving 500-750 lb patio citrus. We have a small circle of plywood in the bottom of the lip to accommodate smaller bottomed pots. Casters are super heavy duty, the welding on the metal is top notch. Already planning on ordering another set. They end up being more economically priced per unit than the plastic skates and work so much better. Note - initial delivery came damaged. The box had clearly been returned and the return department must not have inspected the product. One of the units had rust from a barrel and the casters were scratched and some of the nuts/bolts were missing. I immediately contacted customer service and they sent out a replacement. Also, because of the package weight (63 lbs), they sent a driver to pick up the return. That was also effortless and smooth. Overall great product and great customer service. Pentagon Drum Dolly set was a lifesaver for my citrus and my back!

Easy to assemble and is made well
I really like this item since I have been wanting to get one of these for a while, but the prices seemed a bit high for something that is a set and forget item, even though it is very useful. The image is of a full barrel of diesel fuel and this item is supporting it very well without flexing. The castors are really nice quality and roll around the shop with ease with a full load. The price is also much better than what I was seeing in the past for similar item. I'm sure it will last longer than I will. Your mileage may vary.

Great, except...................
This unit is built very strong. Good workmanship and materials. But(t), the designer needs needs to check his measurements again. The bolts holding the wheels on, are too long. The ones supplied measure 16mm, and when the locknut is tightened down, holding the assembly together, there is about 3.5-4mm sticking out above the top of the locknut. THAT, is enough so it interferes with the wheel assembly, not allowing it to turn as designed. VERY limiting turning! If you try and put the bolts in from the bottom, you had best have a deep dish steel drum rather than a blue plastic 55 gal water barrel! If it is plastic, those bolt ends will puncture it when the barrel is filled and there is now close to 500 lbs sitting on them! If not, I guarantee it WILL wear through in short order. I just ordered some 12mm replacement bolts, which work fine, but we should not have to buy anything that didn't come with it! THAT is just poor design, or "cheap" creeping in by using the wrong bolts that cost less?

Perfect For Woodshop!
I use these as mobile bases for my waste barrels in my woodshop on YouTube, Trap Door Woodworks. In the next few weeks I will be making what I call the 'Garbench' — a mobile barrel with a small workbench on top. Some of these barrel castors are too large or small, and I have found these to be just right for a normal 55 gal drum. In the end, all of my mobile barrels will be a small workbench as well!

I use this to hold my 55 galon water barrel. It does the job. But I had to make some modifications. The way the bolts are positioned to the wheels the barrel would be sitting on the bolt heads. I have access to a fabrication shop so I welded the wheel brackets to the frame itself. This allowed me to remove the bolts and have a nice clean flat surface to place the barrel on. If you can't do this you could buy a sheet of plywood. Cut out the shape of the frame, drill some counter sink holes to allow for the bolt heads and place your barrel on the plywood. This would have the same affect. Just something to consider if your putting lots of weight on the stand.

I don’t understand how it’s possible that after so many reviews stating the same issue the company hasn’t switched out the screws in the box. I bought this figuring that by now they would have dealt with the issue. Thankfully Amazon has awesome service and I was given a credit so I can go buy what was necessary. Very inconvenient to have to change the hardware on such a simple product. Besides that it’s very sturdy etc etc I am happy with my purchase but annoyed at how stupid it was to put together.

Thin metal. Bolt stick up too far so this is not suitable for a plastic barrel. Wheels are cheap and not spaced enough from the frame to have bolts stick down.
